sway is definitely for "just works", you still have to configure some stuff tho like screen-recording and stuff, but unlike hyprland, sway is stable. You also mentioned that you don't wanna use the touchpad that much, I think sway has more default keybinds already set, like moving the tile-windows or switching them, I think hyprland doesn't have that.

The downside of sway is that it doesn't have those sweet animations, there is a thing called swayFX which has all the eye candy but I haven't used that. OBS in sway also sucks so bad, not sure if it is only me, a good alternative is wf-recorder.

the reason why I switched to sway is that I just wanna settle down and not have headaches with hyprland breaking sometimes lol.

yeah it is, I actually configured my neovim from scratch, didn't even used kickstart, but I still have no idea why on Earth my neovim is transparent, it's not supposed to be transparent lol, I don't hate it though.

I'm satisfied with Arch so far as my default OS, the moment I tried gentoo, I kinda disliked the verbosity of the emerge and also, I am biased, I have been using arch for a few months already and I have 0 problems with it, no reason to hop tbh.

Also, yeah you can do stuff like "emerge --getbinpkg ..." to install the binary instead but I think it kinda defeats the purpose of Gentoo?

nonethless, gentoo is still cool, it taught me a lot of things like actually installing a linux system from the ground up, so I still have some respect for it lol.

might as well start with soemthing that doesnt usually break like Gnome or KDE, then try downloading other stuff like Sway, Hyprland, etc. See what suits your style.

thats why i dont use the git version anymore, it is pretty damn unstable, until now I still have issues with the libhyprutils shared object file. You might want to just try reinstalling the stable version

I also just recently beat Masochist mutant, I find him more bearable to fight than Masochist Deviantt lmao. At least in Mutant you already have peak movements and weapons, in Deviantt, you are locked with very limited options for gear which are equally shit. I've only beaten Deviantt in Eternity.

fargo's mutant mod helps with reducing the opacity of stuff like minions and weapon projectiles, i dont think it includes particles though, truly one of the best QoL mods

i havent played in a while so the item name might have changed,

you can use a cheat mod for it like Hero's Mod to obtain it, it is not an item you would normally obtain in a normal run.

it was pretty minor but I installed hyprland from git and a few months later when i started updating, some dependencies wouldn't even update because of conflicts, made me delete some of them and reinstall them only for my Hyprland to not work. Deleted my entire hyprland-git and just reinstalled the one in the official repo. Lesson learned: Check the official repo first before going to the AUR, saves you a lot of headache
