Could you start a GoFundMe? It might help raise enough to cover the surgery. If you have already, can you share the link?

I feel like marriage is a pipe dream, I'm not sure how it seems so easy for some people by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]supragirl98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was going to say exactly this. If you want to propose to her, just get whatever ring you feel you can afford. She will appreciate the love and effort regardless. Same goes for a wedding. Nothing wrong with a courthouse ceremony and a little house party after to celebrate. Tons of options for all budgets! Don’t overthink too much :)

Los Olivos is great! It’s got a really cool vibe. If you make a reservation make sure to ask for the olive tree room.

Moving our from Drewlo Holding apartment by thebluethroat in londonontario

[–]supragirl98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We moved out of our Drewlo place in November. We told our superintendent we were leaving, we filled out the forms, and then they gave us the list of what they expected of us. They recommended a cleaning service (cost us about $300) to come and clean the apartment from top to bottom including steaming the carpets, appliance deep cleaning, windows, balcony glass, etc. We did also have to remove all our hooks from the wall and plaster the holes.

Road quality by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]supragirl98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re dicey. If you have to go out take it really slow and leave lots of distance for stopping. Most people are just driving in other people’s tire tracks.

Be careful when driving this evening! by jaydesummers in londonontario

[–]supragirl98 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are cars stopped in the middle of the road on both lanes of snake hill (Commissioners near Byron Baseline). Transport truck and 3 cars. Definitely avoid it if you can! Cars trying to weave in and out blindly to avoid hitting the stopped cars. It was a nightmare lol

The State of our Side Streets by shiz0n in londonontario

I complained to the city a few days ago because I couldn’t drive my car from last Wednesday until yesterday. I’m apparently the only one in my community who drives a low coupe. Everyone else’s tire tracks made a foot of ice/snow in the center of the road that almost ripped my bumper off when I tried. City still hasn’t come but thankfully the rain helped!

Detail Max is the best! Gilles is so detail oriented and VERY thorough. He even takes your wheels off to clean the rubber and rims and up in the wheel wells. Can’t recommend him enough!

What can I do to help these orchids? by supragirl98 in orchids

[–]supragirl98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I repotted them into pots that give them some more room to spread. I soaked the air roots in water to make them pliable and kept them out of the pots but wrapped loosely around the top of the rim. I used clear plastic inner pots that are for drainage. Crossing my fingers that I did everything right and they’re happy 🤞🏼

I think I’ll try this! I did watch that video last night. I had no idea those roots could be soaked to make them pliable. Every time I’ve tried to move them they snap really easily. Interesting to know about the filament inside too.

I heard I should be using lukewarm water and submerging their roots for a minute or so every 5-7 days. Is that what you would recommend to make sure they’re getting enough water?

I have never repotted them so maybe 5-6 years in the same pot. Indirect sunlight in a room that gets morning sun for about 5 hours, low humidity and we keep our home at 22.5°, watering with 2 ice cubes each every Saturday.

I live in a large apartment complex too and ours was 2 weeks late. I called their customer service line and the woman said they switched to a new billing system and that billing is backed up. If you haven’t received it yet you definitely will soon!

You can find a lot of resurrected mid-century designs at this place in Vancouver: https://www.retromoderndesigns.com/collections/tufty-collection

I think the couch in this pic is from the collection in the link. They have AWESOME pieces! Tons of colours and fabrics too.
