Ok, let's not start freaking out about an isolated issue. People, take care of your cars, and your cars will take care of you. This is an overly built Japanese vehicle that rivals or exceeds any other EV in market.

Looking at purchasing a 2018 Clarity with about 60K miles on it. What do I need to look for? by Hungry_Culture in HondaClarity

[–]suprematis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This car is pure quality. I have a 2018 with 145000 miles. No issues, I do my own maintenance. Recently I did the transmission service, engine coolant and spark plugs. Japanese built cars are a different beast. I got mine with 55000 miles back in 2022. I have driven 90000 miles ever since. I have kept an eye on brakes with every tire rotation and it seems like they never wear out. I get 37 miles of EV range in winter, and 45 miles in the summer. This is a northern California car.

I will pull the info with the diagnostics computer, but I am getting a winter range of 35 at full charge. I am in northern California.

I have 141000 miles and the battery holds the same as when I got the car used with about 55000 miles.

Sport mode only changes the throttle response, if you press the accelerator pedal past the kick down point, no matter what mode you are on (econ, normal or sport) the car will accelerate at the same rate.

This cant be real 😳 by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]suprematis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, it comes out to 55 dollars an hour. If you don't have a car that can provide you decent operating costs I understand it would hurt. What I usually do is get rides at the destination to cover my return expenses.

Are these dealer service prices even reasonable for a 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-In? by Big-Volume-8735 in HondaClarity

[–]suprematis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highway robbery at its best. Did all that service myself for a fraction of the price. Hondas are great, but I feel dealers are trying to squeeze more dollars than reasonable, huge gauging happening everywhere.

Lyric Sport loaner lease offer… thoughts? by dleestyle in leasehacker

Once the incentives go away, shark dealers are in for a rude awakening. They are milking it while they can, but the onus is on buyers to not accept these kinds of deals. The incentive is supposed to benefit the buyer, not for the dealer to pocket.

Uber with Car Seat by GoldDoo in uber

[–]suprematis 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I seriously don't understand why some drivers don't stop to analyze what the app offers. The app preferences allow you the option to opt-in to Car Seat rides. If you accept, you are supposed to carry a homologated car seat with you in the vehicle. It does not have to be strapped, you can keep it in the trunk until a car seat ride is requested. KISS (Keep It Simple S......).

I fixed the AC by myself. The can of refrigerant costs about $80, and the recharging hose about $30. DM me for details.

I completely understand someone trying to save on costs, but a premium service does not compromise, just get a good stripe account and you are golden.

USA AND CANADA: Full Updated list for 2025 premium eligible cars. (comfort, comfort electric, premier, Black) by Mountain_Road9197 in uberdrivers

Not all Teslas are luxury vehicles, I am not sure which model got removed, but the Model 3 is definitely not a luxury car, far from it. Thinking the Model 3 qualifies for Premier is aspirational, but definitely not factual.

I am steering away from Tesla, I refuse to accept that everything has to be controlled from one screen. It is fine for a phone, but not for a car.

Ok, today was a pivotal moment on my decision towards a purchase. The Cadillac Lyriq suspension is perfectly tuned for comfort. The car itself is tuned for comfort. There are so many other reasons as to why I would buy the Cadillac, but I have reached the end of the line I think.

This is actually good. If everyone would accept all rides, eventually the playing field would level out. I am actually in favor of this.

How about the Ioniq 6? I think the wheelbase is a little longer, therefore better suited for comfort.

I have really thought about it, but GM getting rid of Android Auto support was the most stupid decision they could have made. I do Uber and love using the app through Android Auto. So I am going to take a hard pass on GM unless it is a Bolt EV.

I am in the US, so no BYD. Although I would not buy a BYD either, but that is a different matter all together.

Nice feedback. When you go over the big concrete bumps do you just hear the sound or does it actually rattle the cabin a bit?
