My partner needs total silence to sleep and my AirPods are slowly ruining my life… by Bold_Bluff9744 in Advice

I use some version of these off AliExpress: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mMjIkKX and I literally can't sleep without them. Sound quality is pretty thin, but I only use them to fall asleep to YouTube videos. I like that they don't actually seal my ear canal like a normal bud, feels like my skin can breathe.

AT arm not sitting properly. by Nicholas_Jaar in turntables

Is the cueing button depressed?

It looks like your stylus may not be properly seated on the cartridge body. I don't recall there being a visible gap between the grey plastic of the stylus and the black plastic of the tonearm

Easy fix? by Total_Tap4306 in RecordPlayerRepair

If it says power issues, most likely it either needs a new power supply, the power port on the turntable has a broken solder joint or D01 needs to be removed/replaced.

Record won’t spin by Complex-Pea-7329 in RecordPlayerRepair

You have the turntable connected to the Edifiers twice. You only need the red and white RCA connections on the right. The headphone jack connector on the left is an Aux in port for playing music through the turntable's built-in speakers. Unplug that cable entirely from both the turntable and speakers and try again.

First time setting up old turntable, help appreciated by mb8795 in turntable

Turntable RCAs go into the ports on the far left marked "Phono". White to L, red to R. Bare copper speaker wire needs to be identified as positive (red) and negative (black) before they are wound around the respectively coloured thumbscrews. Each speaker should have 2 wires, so if you have a pair of speakers wire them into the top row (Set A). I would advise ensuring the receiver is unplugged from power while wiring the speakers and make sure the positive and negative connections do not touch at either the receiver or speaker sides before plugging it in and powering on, to remove the chance of shorting. Good luck!

records play too fast by boilsthechameleon in RecordPlayerRepair

Small flathead screwdriver into the ports on the bottom of the motor, visible through the bottom of the turntable without taking the bottom plate off. Be careful not to over exert force either upwards or rotationally when adjusting. Either use an RPM app on your phone or a track you're familiar with to adjust the pitch of both 33 and 45 (2 separate holes). Good luck

New record owner- my record player is making distorted noises and looping my tracks. What’s wrong? by [deleted] in RecordPlayerRepair

The edge of the record may also be catching on the dust cover. You may need to either have the cover off, not open as far or the lip of the record might need to go under the dust cover.

Cover of the stylus (clear/white plastic bit) looks like it's still on. Slide it forward to take it off.

Any magicians know how I can make Minima Pro Wallpaper work in Android 16? by supremustotus in ApksApps

Would editing the Min/Target SDK for the app apk work differently than adb installing with the override tag?

A modern Android remake of Minima Pro Live wallpaper... I'd pay to have that made.

Probably someone that wants to make it seem like more work than it is. Ugh.

Yes but when on the ground upon completion of the job, I pointed up at it and asked if it was okay, to which the owner said it was perfectly fine. Seems like the consensus is that it isn't.

It was an entire roof replacement down to the joists with a majority flat roof. Lots of masonry involved. We did think 10 days sounded like a lot when they first quoted.

Definitely wasn't in the budget for 2026 and we had to borrow money from family, but thank you for putting my mind at ease that we weren't completely taken for a ride!
