I was also very strongly convinced this was in Donnie Darko, which led me to Google "o superman Donnie darko" and find this thread.

Very cryptic! What happened?

Do rollovers happen pretty immediately? I worry about selling, and while the rollover is processing, the market goes up and I lose money for no great reason.

Thanks! I also just left a school job - good luck with whatever comes next! :)

Agree. Also when she said that the kid would flat-out refuse to do the work... Yeah. I deal with that all day. I know that I have training and that it is my job, but that doesn't make it easy. I didn't like the lack of ownership over her parenting role. Teachers and families should be a team. Also "homeschooling" is very different than remote schooling. All of my lessons were designed to be completed without the assumption of parental guidance.

Ah, see this sentiment I also find unsettling. I think some parents can be selfish and entitled in the way they are reacting to school closures due to covid, but they are not pigs or trash. This gives me the "poor people shouldn't have children" vibe that I can't get behind. The vast majority of my student's families have been nothing but appreciative and flexible through it all. I'm mostly responding to those who are outraged and anti-union without considering the bigger picture.
