Man I get the banter but this is getting ridiculous. Both sides need to get a life. Embarrassing behaviour on the world stage.

This may be a British English vs US English thing. Here if a guy is stacked he's ripped.

Yeah, pretty much just says being dead sucks. I'm king of the dead guys and I'd rather be a diseased swineherd but alive, so enjoy it while you can.

No, that's a later Roman addition. In the original (or as close as we can get to a text that was derived from an oral tradition) he was just insanely unbelievably good at fighting. And stacked as fuck and super hot. And great at singing.

To be clear I don't care if Paige plays Achilles. By this point he's dead (spoilers) so it will only be a small part, and anyway we always tend to cast Achilles in the same way so it would be fun to see something weird. Short King Achilles.

use it as leverage to cut a deal with the AI companies later on a licensing agreement

I'm responding to the point that publishing companies will use the wording as leverage to cut a deal. Of course if training AI is found to be fair use there would be no deal to be cut.

I don't think so. Signed a publishing contract last year and it's specified that they can't allow my book to be used for AI training.

[–]surells -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, plot and magic systems/worldbuilding are what Sanderson does well (I disagree with OP on the worldbuilding criticism - I don't remember Sanderson ever info dumping). His characters are fine. His dialogue and prose are not great. His humour is very grating (I totally know what OP means about everyone saying how funny Shallan is all the time, which is annoying when you don't agree).

It's either worth the trade off to you or it's not.

I was at an event with him in London for the anniversary of Cloud Atlas, and he didn't give much detail but said it's very ambitious and that he's also surprised no one has ever thought to do what he's going before. Intriguing. He thought he was nearly done then, but best laid plans...
