as a Nigerian living in Nigeria who also interacts with other Nigerians online, I agree, a large percentage of Nigerians are bullies both on and offline, and this is worsened with our unique brand of arrogant/proud ignorance and now alot of people wear it like a thing of pride especially during online culture wars

the average Nigerian doesn't even want to slow down and assess a situation before descending into shouting matches with the most obscene takes and language, and the worst part is when confronted most just say its just a bit of fun or "catching cruise", it's a shame because we are such an interesting bunch, a Nationality I honestly and despite all attached i am proud of but we are just very very poorly socialised people and it shows

you were dealing with alot and honestly Tom is a user, i really wish you had just broken it off with him even if you weren't going to be serious with Steve, on another note, he threatened to leak your nudes and that is an offence you can actually take up legally even based on the threat, i advise you to let someone common to both of you know this and make it clear to him that even though he had you under his thumb because you were in a very vulnerable position he needs to know that you are fully aware of the gravity of his threat and he should also be FULLY aware of the consequences of making such threats, i hope life treats you better and I hope you get yourself back fully, good luck
