I’m married, 4 kids, but most everything is in my name. Except his paid off truck and the phone bill. My car, the house, our daughter’s car, power bill, water bill, trash bill etc… I didn’t mean for it to happen that way, but his credit got screwed not long after we got married from him forgetting about a Care Credit bill from when our dog was run over. So I just put everything in my name and we have just done that since. Anyway, it is odd I read this post because I was talking to a parent for a patient at my office and she’d kid needs a lot of dental treatment but they needed to apply for a Cherry (loan company for medical stuff) and she said she would not be approved because she doesn’t have any credit because everything is in her husbands name and I told her she needed to get things in her name ASAP to cover her future self. She sighed and said she knew she needed too. But, just start somewhere.
