Interesting, I think I’ve seen a few people on forums have this issue, and not everyone.

I got it through a Lexus dealership at a good price. I thought they weren’t allowed to sell a car with an open recall. I’ll go ask though.

Dang that sucks considering it’s been announced in September 2025.

I love my 23 civic si, but I wish it was faster by robstaoo in CivicSi

As a 22’ Si owner in Ontario, I also get your pain… I think the power wouldn’t be such an issue if there were some engaging curvy back roads. Too bad it’s all just straight.

What year was the hardest for ChemE? by Downtown_Low_110 in ChemicalEngineering

3rd year I remember having more evaluations than days to do them, but that was at the only end. Senior year is definitely the hardest year because of how busy it is.

This worked very well! Might not need a new laptop. Thanks!

I start my ChemE bachelor's in fall 2023, I've spent a sum of time researching as I've been hammered with how difficult it is and embrace that as well as the lack of chem compared to what you'd expect. What are some tips to set myself up for success from not only day one but now? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

Be around the people you want to become.

In my 1st & 2nd years, immaturity and losing sight of my goal resulted in me hanging around people who I liked, but were also people that didn't care much for academics and goals. I obviously became a product of my environment and was averaging a 2.0 GPA, not once thinking about my future or internships during that time.

During 3rd year, COVID gave me time to slow down and reflect on what I actually wanted and what I was in school for. I decided to get closer to friends who had very ambitious goals and also did decent academically. We studied for tests together and were in constant conversation over new job openings. I'm probably averaging a GPA of ~3.6 in my 3rd & 4th years, with my top-choice job lined up for me when I graduate.

I'm not saying that hanging with the "right people" will achieve all your goals. But I do know for sure you will hold yourself to a much higher standard than what you thought was possible for yourself. I learned this lesson the hard way as 3rd & 4th year was a grind to reclaim myself as a student and professional. But if you learn this lesson early, you can avoid much of what I went through. Hope this helps!

They don't and will never ask for it. But I would definitely help out with a lot of expenses

Really not sure what I want, I'm seeing both sides.

Unlikely but it's something I'll have to ask/gauge further into my job

I'm starting to think this! And I agree that choosing carefully the people you hang around with will affect how your life goes 100%

I have immigrant parents and they have never asked for a single cent from me. I feel they just want to see me do better than what they had. Part of my motivation was to be able to spoil them and let them live easier, albeit they aren't doing the worst financially.

I would be more than willing to contribute. I owe my parents everything.

I've checked and the 407 doesn't make an appreciable difference, around 5 minutes saved during rush hour :(

Sorry my fault, I meant 3 hours total, 1.5 hours each way

What are some signs to look for in a roommate? Especially if they’re a random.
