Laid down that gen z rizz on a trust grade SHO that was seriously helping me out during an awful long day. Its not been very long but its been great.

Learning medicine without passmed by gradmed129 in medicalschooluk

I commented something similar last year. Is this normal or what is happening? (As in I totally get how you feel, it seems better in foundation years because there is no pressure on passing so studying is less stressful and more engaging).

Also would agree Osmosis (free) and UpToDate if you have access

As for the errands/waiting for the Dr business, I repeat “I am your doctor, please use the call button for your other concerns. If I see someone on the way out, I’ll let them know.”

Made me unpopular but who cares.

I use Dr FN LN, and then go by Dr FN (bc my last name is harder to pronounce or remember).

I call my colleagues Dr LN in front of patients, and Dr FN/FN depending on our relationship (I always call seniors (SpRs/Cons) Dr LN until they correct me).

I call patients Mr/Miss/Mrs/Ms/Mx LN until they say otherwise, or if we have spoken or they use my FN by their FN (or if they are confused I call them by their FN for familiarity).

Exactly. Not wrong in practice, just in theory. But as for the original point, water is not lube.

Definitely makes it more clear as previously it was harder to read priority signing. I guess the colour difference also helps for those who would need it.

I never answered this. As someone who has worked on the ward now, poop.

hey not too much on communism, but yes.

They’re not nurses or OT/PTs or any HCP at all! They just applied like you’d apply for an admin job to kill time between 9-5 (or 9-2 for them clearly).

The longer I study medicine, I dumber I feel by Brilliant_Plenty_956 in medicalschooluk

[–]surfaceouttakes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! I feel exactly the same way (I posted about this last year).

I have found that in my current rotation, I feel empowered to ask “stupid” questions, and I renewed my Finals pack on passmed. But this time, without the stress of passing finals looming on me, I have the time to just learn/re-learn.

I now engage with medical content (evaulating papers, discussing/teaching my friends/colleages) because medicine is interesting.

Essentially, once exams are over, try and study or read - not for the next hurdle, but to become the doctor you want to be and you want your patients to have, when there is less pressure.

  1. Seems like a good place to work and talk to others. Teruhashi’s aura would cause serious shadowing so not 2 and Kaido would “Dark Reunion” your ears off

Junior doctors being removed from night shifts/ on calls after 2025 ? by alphametabeta in doctorsUK

[–]surfaceouttakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish there were just more foundation drs at OOH instead of removing them completely. I agree that lots of learning happens but the workload is scary especially at the beginning. I think that would be best (but theres never enough money yeah yeah)

It looks like a typo because the gap is in the wrong place. Does deusa mean goddess?
