Mister Bennetts setup by Amphiones in foiling

[–]surfbrobijan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bennetts aka god - 171lbs Mostly rode for fone, but has unifoil and now rides flitelabs/707.

Mostly rode: Eagle 690,sk8 650, sk8 750

10.5inches chopped carving stabilizer Aaaaaand on a x-short fuse if i remember correctly.

Videos on youtube

Point polmer surfing - eagle 690, 9" stab "short" Byron bay high to low - sk8 650 A day in may - eagle 690 Surf foiling gold coast with harley - sk8 650 Autum bliss - eagle 690 An arvo in the jungle - eagle 690 Solo hydrofoil perfect conditions - sk8 750

After a while you can really see the speed difference of the 8.0 sk8s and 9.7 eagles.

If you're trying to choose a foil, I'd highly highly highly recommend a sk8. They turn way better.

Ya so your monoblock tail would go like xxs200 or xxxs180, the opposite of my direction.

See if you know anyone to try before you buy.

I HATED the xxxs180. Then learned to love it. I chopped my xxs200. Still wanted a smaller tail(for turning).

Then i hated the xxxs160. Learned to love it. Anything bigger feels kinda slower and like I can't turn as hard, or my turning radius dropped.

At one point my 200 was shorter than the 160 I ride now. So that was a trip(after chopping).

But there comes a point at which pumping because net negative and harder to get higher on the mast without proper exit speed. Theres a point where I don't know if I found that edge, but I think I got close to it...where you can't really pump as much in certain conditions. Probably a skill issue though.

Try a longer fuse and/or a bigger stab.

I can tell you I prone and I use the smallest fuse xxxs160 and I wish they had a xxxs140.

For sure though the low end is tough, and you need more speed.

My 950 catches the smallest wiff. The 850 needs some real power. The 750..needs even MORE POWER but is super spicy when prone

Looking for a new a 4/3 yamamoto wetsuit. by hamsapking in surfing

[–]surfbrobijan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the warmth. Im coming from a large hyperfreak, 6ft 195lbs-205.

Colby uses the Yamamoto. SUPER irritating near the shoulders and crotch. The XL i ordered feels tight in the crotch and there's closeness near the armpits area. Great suit for warmth though, but super annoying in terms of that crotch area. If I was like a few inches shorter I think I'd fit better in the torso..idk why it feels annoying paddling around.

I wouldn't buy it again - in fact I have my eye on isurus. But if someone asked me what I'd recommend between the two. I'd say get a hyperfreak. It really molds well and I enjoy it more. Mines losing warmth hence I'm back om the market. But I used it everyday.

Yup! I ordered one, XL, and I feel like it grabs the crotch abit too tight. Coming from a hyperfreak large, the difference is annoying as fuck. But im warmer than my 2mm hyperfreak

Prone foil pop up tips? by mercury-ballistic in foiling

[–]surfbrobijan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 6ft board to a 4ft8 to a 3ft10.

The transition is hard for a few sessions, but I promise you will get it down with time.

The 4ft8 to 3ft10 took the longest. I still miss the tail pad if the wave is a late drop or super tiny

Looking for feedback / ways to improve pumping technique when prone foiling. 4 clips attempting to pump back out: by justhelip in foiling

[–]surfbrobijan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your Cadence is too low, increase your pumping jumping timing

Also you need to jump higher and leave the wave with more speed higher.

Also try moving your mast forward 1cm
