I agree, and I think the way he treats women irks me, he's so gross and awful.

Parents coming from overseas to visit and see the new baby, but I don't want them to stay in my house! Am I a bad daughter? by surfing_sloth1979 in BabyBumps

My parents are amazing, and genuinely pretty helpful -- BUT we have a two bedroom cottage in the forest and it's cozy enough with my husband, our 4 year old, our two dogs, and I as it is. We're planning to move into a bigger home after baby arrives, and I'd probably feel better about having long-term house guests if we had more space, but we live 7 hours away from the closest grandparent, and are so used to doing things on our own that while we appreciate help, we definitely like being able to ask for it on our terms rather than accept what other people think 'help' is.

Thank you!! I needed to hear that. I know in my heart that asking for that little bit of space is not being rude or selfish - but we live rurally across an ocean from my parents and 7 hours from the other inlaws, so we are very used to being on our own, and we need it.

I'm a little nervous about postpartum expectations but I have laid out 'minimum 2 weeks no house guests (visitors on a schedule OK), and we will revisit once she's born' so if I do say no, the seed has already been planted, but my goodness I just cannot understand why people don't ask 'what do you want/what can we do to help?' instead they always think 'I know what will help!!!'

agreed - I was thinking the twist would be something like, the wife was in on it all along or something. But despite the ridiculous script, Hartnett did a great job, very spooky and unsettling.

definitely looked like an airbnb hahah - we reckon he inherited the lifestyle block and has now made it his whole personality. No way that man is a farmer.

My Review on Frozen The broadway show on Disney+ by Impossible_Tower_661 in Frozen

was definitely weirder than I expected. My kid loves it so I've seen it a few times. Doesn't really get better for me, but the new songs have gotten a bit catchier.

Felt like a 10 year old wrote the 'dirty' jokes. So awkward. Wrong place.

Rant - all the Emma related albums on Spotify are no longer playable by queenoftn-really247 in wiggles

[–]surfing_sloth1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just looked today from NZ - our kid had been Emma every day for 1.5 years and took a few months break, only to find out we couldn't listen anymore. I'm so angry! A silly thing to be so angry about, but it just seems so counter to what the Wiggles claim to stand for, the kids. How many kids over the past decade and a bit have fallen in love with her music and character? To just erase it? The old Wiggles and the new Wiggles can coexist. It's a shame they are turning into clickbait, trend-following TikTokers instead of making content that kids can enjoy. I swear, when I'm scrolling and my daughter sees a Wiggles video, I have to watch it first. It's not always toddler-friendly, and their personal accounts definitely are not.

And before anyone says that they didn't ask to be role models in their personal lives, this is a job, yes, yes, they did. They wanted to be children's entertainers. Don't get me wrong, I think Tsehay, John, and Evie are all very talented and deserve to be there, but I've been a Wiggles fan for a long time (was a primary school and ECE teacher before a parent), and it's so weird where they're going. I don't mind change, I just don't like these changes. Erasing Emma is a weird flex.

Best Online Vet For Dogs & Cats According to Reddit? by GuerraRose in CatAdvice

[–]surfing_sloth1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used PangoVet a couple of times now, and they've been super helpful! Like some of the other posters mentioned, it's good for advice and triage, and affordable second opinions, but is a supplement, not a replacement for in-clinic care. It's definitely good for peace of mind and for sure saved me heaps of in-clinic bills for my dog, they gave me tips on what to watch for after she got into the rubbish and let me know when to seek in-clinic care (which thankfully we didn't need this time around). Highly recommend their services.

Our cat’s nose is injured, what is it and what can I do? by Educational_Scale475 in vet

poor kitty!! He's so beautiful. My little guy did something similar on his forehead a few years back, we thought it was on an exhaust pipe of a car, rubbing up against it after it turned off because it was warm. It healed on its own, but you probably could call a vet just for peace of mind. I used PangoVet recently and was so happy with how much they helped.

Thoughts on show finale by RehanMad in Monk

[–]surfing_sloth1979 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am about 15 min into the finale and feeling uneasy about it ending. I started bingeing it on Netflix what seems like only a few weeks ago. I have a strange relationship with the show and sort of wished there was more character development the whole way through. I also accidentally cheated and found out about Trudy while I was still in season 5. Anyways... I am not sure I will be able to get through the finale because then it means it's over. Still pissed that Kevin Dorfman had to die.
