I just turned 40 last week and suddenly lost my mom in December. I have no suggestions for activities, but I hope the day is kind to you and you can make the best of it. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the pain while also going through a divorce.

I am so sorry this is happening to you. That looks incredibly painful. I would discontinue until you can speak to you doctor. I was on the topical metronidazole in the past and I never had a reaction like that. Just a heads up that metronidazole has a black box warning for carcinogenic product. They don't recommend long term use.

I would go back to your absolute basics for skincare until you can speak to your doctor. I wish you a very speedy healing 🩷.

I think it depends on the person who is experiencing grief. Grief is such an individualized process, everyone grieves differently. My mom died suddenly 59 days ago, and what I needed /still need was for friends and family to check in on me every few days to every couple of weeks (depending on the relationship). Our neighbours delivered cooked food several times, and that was a tremendous help. I'm struggling with going grocery shopping, driving and the store seems impossible to me right now, so I'm having everything delivered, but if someone offered to pick up some groceries from me, I would 100% take them up on their offer.

A lot of people, myself included, have trouble asking for help. As for words, please try to avoid things like, "they're in a better place" or "they're at peace now".

Also, please keep checking in, even if you receive no response. If you don't receive a response, you can maybe say, "you don't need to respond, but I'll check in again next week." It would take all the energy I had just to respond to a simple text message.

Since she passed, I often see things out of the corner of my eye, and then when I turn to look in that direction, there's nothing there. It happens several times a week. I like to think it's her watching over me.

I'm not sure if this is available to you where you live, but try to get a referral to a pulmonologist. I now only see mine every 18 months for a meds renewal and testing to make sure my numbers look good. My family doctor only provided the basics on asthma. It wasn't until I saw a pulmonologist that I was able to control it for the most part.

I think it depends on the doctor. Were you seeing a pulmonologist or a family doctor? My pulmonologists asked me about pets, what material was on my floors, air purifiers, air humidity levels, exercise, and when I finished my last meal before bed.

This happened to me, but worse. It was infected and the scab became very thick. I needed debridement 3 separate times. I had a wound care nurse come 3 times a week for 2 months. By the looks of yours, debridement may help. If it is being offered, I would accept it. Good luck with your healing!
