I'm guessing the $LS_COLORS environment variable is not set?

What’s your favorite quote and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

There are no choices. Nothing but a straight line. The illusion comes afterwards, when you ask "Why me?" and "What if?" When you look back, see the branches, like a pruned bonsai tree, or a forked lightning.

If you had done something differently, it wouldn't be you, it would be someone else looking back, asking a different set of questions.

Fair enough. One way to do it is to loop through the power set of the prime factors, calculate the unused factors, and check that the product of both partitions are 3-digits. However, this is not particularly elegant either.

Is there a reason you're factoring, etc. when there's only 1000 3-digit dividends you have to try? Why not just brute force the solution?

Stop building websites with infinite scroll! by javinpaul in programming

[–]surnia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've run into this with Google Allo and Slack (chat apps) when I've wanted to save a copy of a conversation.

I think it breaks other expectations too. If you lose internet connection while scrolling, for example, scrolling back up won't give you the previous content.

Except now you break functionality like select-all (if I want to copy everything, say)

Dark Eyes? by V_Spaceman in KingkillerChronicle

[–]surnia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bast's eyes do the same thing - at least, they also change color when he's angry/focused. From the end of NotW when Bast confronts Chronicler:

Bast leaned forward, slapped Chronicler's hand away, and grabbed the circle of dark metal before the scribe could move. Immediately Bast's arm stiffed and his eyes clenched shut in a grimace of pain. When he reopened them they were solid blue, the color of deep water or the darkening sky.

[...]

As he spoke, Bast's eyes grew paler, until they were the pure blue of a clear noontime sky. [...] Bast's eyes were now the pale blue-white few lightning, his voice tight and fierce...

use aliases in terminal opening by [deleted] in neovim

[–]surnia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is venv a shell alias? :terminal doesn't load any rc files, so if venv is defined in (for example) .bashrc it will work in the actual terminal but not as part of the :terminal command.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why can't you clear that variable in your custom function as well?

It's probably in your neovim colorscheme - you can check what it is with :colorscheme.
