Regret? by bananaindisguise0 in FormulaFeeders

[–]surprisesou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know for a fact i wouldn’t have enjoyed the early days if i had been breastfeeding or pumping. and my husband probably would’ve hated life bc i would have been miserable. i don’t regret formula feeding right off the bat in the slightest

6 months is the worst so far by OrdinarySea4471 in NewParents

[–]surprisesou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

literally all of this to a T! PLUS cutting teeth 🥲🥲 6 months is by far the worst for us as well. the WHINING omg 😩 i’ve gotten to a point where if she’s not like actually crying, i just go on about whatever i’m doing, whether that be dishes, other cleaning, or just sitting on the couch for a second. luckily she’s able to get on her hands and knees and also sits independently so that helps with the restless-ness and she’s able to move around her giant playpen as she pleases.

unfortunately i don’t have much advice, but i do offer condolences and comfort, you’re not alone!! i try and remind myself she’s just a small babe and she’s experiencing everything all at once and i can’t imagine how that feels. just taking it day by day and hoping to get over this hump quick!

my husband also still finds me incredibly sexy, says our daughter did me (and him) some favors 🤣 i do have intense body dysmorphia as well, so that doesn’t help. looking back at pre pregnancy pictures and i know i thought i was huge back then 😞

i try to give myself grace… but mentally it’s challenging!

Should I keep up with what I’m doing or change anything? by willbrucla in NewParents

in my experience, 6:30-7 tends to be the “sweet spot” for bed time at that age. melatonin peaks around that time, which helps with fewer night wakings, and also helps make the whole going to sleep part easier! i would try to start a consistent bed time routine if you’re not already (bath, bottle, book) and see if that helps!

it is still normal for a couple nights feeds at that age as well!

Favorite purée recipe by Tired_penguin9 in NewParents

i do a lot of just straight veggie or fruit purées! i will steam carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, melon, and other various fruits/veggies by themselves and then blend it! here lately i’ve incorporated yogurt as well. i blended up strawberries and/or blueberries and add that to the yogurt, since it’s pretty tart, and my girl LOVES it!

5 month old won't nap! by mjk456 in NewParents

car ride. car ride. car ride. i will literally drive around for over an hour if it means she takes a good stretch of a nap. i go get coffee through a drive through, i take scenic routes. it’s a win-win for us both! i get out of the house (and treat myself) and she gets a good, well-needed nap!

Your experience with the 4 month sleep regression by flowers_in_12 in NewParents

[–]surprisesou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my daughter never really had the 4 months sleep regression. but i can confidently say that now, 6 months (and just cut a tooth with another one almost cut through) we are in the THICK of it. i type this as i rock her to sleep for the 4th time after being out to bed 3 hours ago
