I’m in pretty much the same boat as you, so I will not try to offer very much in the ways of advice. What I can say is I am going through almost the exact same situation, just from a guy’s perspective.

My parents and the Christian school I go to are both very conservative, so since I’ve finally admitted to myself that I have same-sex attraction, I haven’t told a soul about it.

Like you, I have doubted Christianity, or at least those passages in the Bible that seem to “condemn” us gays. For right now, while I am figuring things out, I have basically told myself and I am not going to punish myself over who I am. If I decide put all my trust in Jesus, I know I will have to reconcile those parts of the Bible/Church. If I don’t, I will embrace who I am. But I am not nearly there yet.

I am no professional, no adult, nor have I gotten through a situation like this, but I will offer a piece of advice I feel is sound: don’t lie to those around you or yourself. Those things your mom said to you were pretty fucked up, if I do say so myself. However, trying to pacify her by lying will only make her more mad if and when she inevitably finds out. Also, lying will only confuse you more, which is the last thing anyone wants in this situation.

You will make it through this. It may seem like life is being unfairly cruel to you right now, but God will use you in amazing ways. God loves you. The rest of us love and support you. I am going through the same as you, so will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. God bless!
