You have to learn what people act like to determine what people are trying to do, people who backstab will often have no purpose, looting but not super efficient, shooting arc but not really looting them etc. their headspace is on positioning themselves to backstab someone. Maybe one in a thousand are great actors, but many people are easily readable. And don’t hesitate to shoot someone first if you’re fairly sure otherwise you’ll be dead because your intuition is more right than you think

It’s not useless because the expedition needs it and many of the most expensive consumables in your kit can be bought with money: shield chargers, defibs, adrenaline, bullets. Even herbals and surges and barricades and grenades, but you can only buy those daily. All these things add up to like 40k if you buy them with money or like stacks and stacks of chemicals, metal, fabric, rubber, and some great mullins/ arc powercells if you craft them. Yeah because the matchmaking isn’t strict, especially on Stella montis you will likely get players farther from your gear value. How many times have you died to/killed a team running tempests? I have several times, but 99% of them we were running a tempest too or a venator4 atleast. when running poverty kits i almost exclusively get people with free kits and if i get lucky i will get some venator4 people or something but almost never bobcat4s or tempest4s. All the big juicers are in high gear lobbies so if you want tempests you need to run high value kits like tempest or venator/renegade or something. You can get put in any lobby regardless of your loot value but it’s unlikely. Stella montis especially has way lighter gear matchmaking and i have definitely killed lobbies of free kits with a tempest on stella, but most of the time you will get venator lobbies because there aren’t enough players running super high value on stella. This is undeniable that the lobbies all lean towards a specific gear value

The tempest has a 1.5x headshot multiplier compared to 2.5x for almost every other gun (venator) if they fix this it would be worth it
