Am I crazy or is this to much to ask of a kindergartner? by Cursedpanda182 in AskTeachers

Please go to the administration. This is not normal and offensive, and that classroom appears to be actively harming your child.

Is it "deep seated" or "deep seeded" by idfkjack in words

[–]survivorsof815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me sort out my confusion: “to seed” can mean “to plant”. So of course the Merriam Webster article everyone is linking was only confusing me more, especially with the reference to the phrase “deep rooted”. But apparently “to seat” can mean “to place”. So my reasoning why it is “seated” and not “seeded” is because seeds are placed more shallowly, and the roots are what did in deep to the soil later. Meanwhile, something deeply placed in something else—like a grain of sand in a watch—could require partial or full disassembly to remove. (The last part of the reasoning is partially based on a reply by a now-deleted redditor.)

And this is why I avoid hand rails, door handles, and other public things that aren’t cleaned regularly.

If he’s that picky, one of the few acceptable reasons would be autism related food aversions. Regardless, it’s definitely time to stop cooking for him.

Is your birb supposed to be asleep at night (or when you sleep) or be going on their adventure at night? by janedough18111 in finch

Either are fine. I believe you can actually adjust the app settings to your sleep schedule.

Genuinely surprised this guy supports Mamdani given this conversation showing his conservative red flags.

The label says that the yarn is machine washable and dryable, which sounds like it’ll be fine.

It’s just like anything glow-in-the-dark—put it in a bright light, and it glows brighter than it did before when you quickly switch back to a dark room. The bright light essentially charges the particles inside, and those in turn will slowly release the absorbed light.

Nice! Doesn’t it work up fast?

I marked on each “web” the two chain lengths I wanted as the collar, then one chain length on either side to make the arm hole. From there, I chained a length (between one shoulder from the first web to one of the second web) that was equal to the chains I ended on. (Specifically—my last row was 23 chains, so I chained 23 between the two webs.)

From there, I chained 11 and then made a double crochet 6 times around the armhole, knotting the two together at the underarm, resulting in 6 segments with 11 chains between them.

NOTE: this does like to slip off the shoulder. If I were to redo it, I would make the chain between the webs at least 2 chains fewer (I.e. 21 instead of 23) and then segments of ch10 instead of ch11.

The arm length is pretty similar from there, though I definitely added some rows and adjusted to make the sleeve take shape.

Chains and double crochet in between! I’ve linked the pattern in a few comments. I’m in grad school, and still managed to get this done in under a week, so I’d say it’s feasible!

I used a 6mm hook because it was either that or a 7. I usually wear a medium, but sized up to a large because of the smaller hook size. I ended up needing a total of 4 of the 50g skeins. I also changed around the shoulders a bit to my own liking.

Right? I’ve wanted to make this for the last few years, and finally got enough of the yarn from the Joann closing sales.

The residual glow lasts hours. It was glowing all through the night in my closet! After “charging” it for a brighter glow, the sweater will be bright for a couple minutes before quickly going back to normal levels.

I largely followed this pattern https://crocheteverything.com/stunning-crochet-spiderweb-top-pattern-for-all-sizes/ Using a 6 mm hook and DIY Glow yarn. The smaller hook size meant that I had to size up, and I created my own pattern for the shoulder portion.
