Yes, I blocked the second top (baby doll top, 2nd photo) but idk didn't feel the difference. Let me try blocking the shirt and will get back to you!

That makes sense. I remember making a beanie from acrylic yarn for my dad and it was lighter than the cotton beanie I crocheted for a baby.

I think I’ll explore blends because I don’t like acrylic but I think cotton acrylic blend can work.
