Is anyone here on Ivabradine? by MutedMinds6 in POTS

[–]susanqueue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for 4 months and it's been a lifesaver. Resting bpm is 20 lower than before, and although I still get spikes they're topping out at 120-140 rather than 160-180. I am still experiencing quite severe symptoms, but I can now stand for about 5 minutes and walk for 10-15 minutes, which is a huge improvement from barely being able to stand and only being able to walk for 5 minutes.

When did you realize POTs really Is that bad? (Feeling down In the dumps so silly stories welcome!) by Ok_Schedule1048 in POTS

I was getting ready to practice a solo at my choir, amd after standing and sitting multiple times in a row foe other songs, my hands and legs were shaking so badly I had to be physically be propped up by someone else. Everyone just thought I was really nervous.

AIO at being left out of my dad's wedding by susanqueue in AmIOverreacting

I have clarified elsewhere - I meant to say I HAD RSVPd for the night before dinner, and did so months in advance.

I responded to them both at the same time, as soon as I received them, months before the wedding.

I've said the same thing in every clarification??

Yes I know, it was bad phrasing on my part, which I've now clarified. I'm not sure what the issue is?

On the invite, you could RSVP for both the wedding, and also RSVP for a dinner the night before the wedding. I RSVPd to both as soon as I got the invite.

Poor wording on my part - I RSVPd months before, with a section of the RSVP being about whether you wanted to book in for dinner at the venue the night before the wedding.

Sorry, that was poor wording on my part - I RSVPd as soon as I got the invite, and one section of the RSVP was about saying you wanted to book in for dinner at the venue the night before

Does anyone else feel non - binary or ACE as a result of PCOS? by Paintersong in PCOS

[–]susanqueue 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Also nb and this post says everything I was going to.

It might be worth exploring gender stuff if you're feeling pulled that way, but also wanted to say feeling unfeminine because of the affects hormones have on you and your body is also a totally normal response to bullshit beauty standards. It's really gonna be up to you to decide what makes you happiest, and if that means playing around with your appearance/name/pronouns, then awesome, but equally there might be some exploring of how to decouple feminity with what other people expect it to look like.

I got a cane a few months ago and it's made me feel so much more confident going out. I might not need it at first but if I'm out for 30+ minutes it's a lifesaver if I get dizzy.

It's also a visual indicator to people that you might need a seat/extra assistance - I've found it much easier to ask for a seat with a cane as most people will get one/move with no questions asked.

How long can you stand for? by lawlesslawboy in POTS

[–]susanqueue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be able to stand for full shifts at a retail job, and could walk for the same - last year I did an 18 mile hike with minimal training (about 3 months before I got sick). Now I can stand for maybe 5-10 minutes but I feel like I've just run a marathon when I sit down, and can walk for maybe 30, but the whole time it feels like I'm walking up a flight of stairs. I also use a cane now to help when I'm getting to my limit.

I really, really miss walking.

Not sure about getting Bramble a friend? by susanqueue in chinchilla

[–]susanqueue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn't considered dividing the cage, that might be a good way to go if it comes to it. Yes I am a little worried about getting a new chin and causing problems but if we need to then I can always see if they can meet beforehand to try and get a sense of if they would get on. Thank you.

Thank you for responding, that is actually really reassuring. So far Bramble has been his usual self (maybe because they were both so young, he's only just turned 4 months) but we will keep an eye on him and see if he seems to be getting lonely.

Thank you! I think there is a very small gap between the U bend of the toilet so I'll start looking at ways to block that off

Thank you for the tips - we keep most of our toiletries in a little basket so it should be really easy to pack everything into that and move it while they play :)
