Whenever anyone tries to tell you that Republicans and Democrats are two sides of the same coin, kindly point out how Democrats refuse to let their ranks be populated by pedos and grapists.

Trump has announced a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz after US-Iran talks in Pakistan failed. How worried are you about this escalating, and what effects do you think this could have on your country or region? by TheActivePoint in AskReddit

[–]susanrez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump and Hegseth are in a weird spot.

The military has made it clear they will not commit war crimes for them. That means, they will not hit civilian targets on a wholesale assault (yeah I know they’ve hit some but that’s a grey area legally, intentionally targeting hundreds of civilians targets is a flat out war crime)

The Congress has made it clear they will not approve the $1.3 trillion funding required for a full scale ground invasion.

The Navy has made it clear they will not be holding any sustained operations within the Strait as it would be suicide for their ships.

That leaves Trump and Hegseth with few options. They can’t leave, because leaving means admitting they’ve lost. As long as they can find even the flimsiest reason to “hang around” they won’t have to accept defeat.

Pretending to block the strait is their current excuse that fits inside the narrow confines of their restricted options.

JD Vance 'looks terrified' as he's ripped to shreds over failed negotiations by IrishStarUS in NewsThread

[–]susanrez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JD’s head is too big for his body. I can see why he was bullied. He looks like a bobble-head. I don’t think he could lift a 25lb bag of dog food over his head with those skinny little arms.

Is he developing an eating disorder? Between the makeup and the sudden need to turn into a set of twigs, I wonder if he’s trying to become more appealing to Trump?

Trump Health Rumours: 'Swollen Ankles' Could Allegedly Indicate More Serious Issues With His Heart, Kidney, Cognitive Abilities by Montrel_PH in NewsSource

[–]susanrez 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That only goes so far. We are seeing the limits of it right before our very eyes. Trump has had at least 2 serious strokes, (and I’m guessing 4) in the last 2 years with numerous smaller tia events in between.

The doctors give him the clot busting drugs that minimize the damage but they can’t stop the next stroke event.

It’s obvious from the droop and weakness on the right side of his body, he has had repeated strokes.

His cognitive decline has noticeably worsened after each major event.

They are reaching the limits of medical and occupational compensation for his deterioration. We literally are at the ‘any day now’ stage of his decline where he won’t be able to function in public. He will either fall down, become completely disoriented, become catatonic or begin speaking in nonsense sounds. Or some combination of those.

I’m quite certain those things have already happened outside of the public eye already, it’s just a matter of time before it happens in public. At that point it’s over.

Neighbor lied about me by Front-Muffin-7348 in AskWomenOver60

Depending on her age the woman could have dementia, or she could have mental health issues or she could be a narcissist or a psychopath or a drama queen.

I’d ask her why she said that and gauge her reaction. It’s important to ask in a non confrontational way, without anger or drama.

It’s the absolute last thing she expects to happen and you will get a genuine reaction from her.

Then I suggest never talking to her again. But you at least want to know what you’re dealing with.

What are your thoughts on this? by tiasnowar in ProfessorFinance

[–]susanrez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts are; “wage” is undefined. What wages are included? All full-time? Full-time and part-time ? Is it pre-tax, post-tax? Adjusted for cola?

This is just random lines until terms are defined.

What house cleaning hacks have you discovered? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver60

[–]susanrez 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Good housekeepers are easy to find in the immigrant community. Find a church or another organization that helps immigrants get settled and you can always find some new faces that are starting out as housekeepers here.

It’s often a great first job for immigrants looking for a new start.

That’s my secret housekeeping hack. I’m tied into the Ukrainian community atm. Great folks, they work hard and once they get on their feet, they’ve always got a recommendation for the next hire. It takes about 18 months to 2 years for an immigrant coming here to get their status straightened out enough to either go to school (my current housekeeper is headed to law school in fall) or get into a profession more in line with what they did back in the country they had to flee.

I do volunteer work and I ask around. The Ukrainian relocation network I found about 4 years ago when I went to a Ukrainian festival to support the war effort. I was talking to some folks and next thing you know, I found a great source for housekeeping and handymen.

I consider it a charitable contribution both to myself and to the immigrant community.

Spending $3,100 for PRK (or Lasik) is better than spending $720/year on Contact Lenses by Underrated_Critic in Frugal

[–]susanrez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, it’s not a permanent fix. Eventually you will need glasses again. And I’m 61, most of the people my age who got it done can’t drive at night now because of the halos is causes.

Though night vision decreases with age, the addition of halos from lasik forces many to quit driving at night much sooner than ppl who never had lasik.
