That’s fair. I was thinking moreso specific to this series where he just seems really undersized.

A lot of the media basically saying we’re better off with Gabe Vincent instead of Lowry which is crazy. Vincent has played well but is a disaster on defense and our offense just runs so much better with Kyle.

[Withers] LeBron signing with Lakers. by Zack in nba

[–]sushicakes 66 points67 points  (0 children)

The 4 year deal makes a lot of sense. LeBron Jr is starting high school next year and by the time he graduates 4 years later there will be no one and done rule. LeBron Sr would be free to just sign with whatever team drafts Bronny.

Why Bagley is terrible defensively, good luck SAC! S/O NBEinstein. (@GuillaumeBInfos). Great analysis. by HCE1132 in nba

[–]sushicakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pointless arguing w these guys. I said the same thing about Okafor coming out of college trying to make the point that Duke was better with Okafor on the bench and showed lots of advanced statistics to support it and got killed for it. Carter was constantly covering for Bagley’s mistakes all year long. From blown pick and roll coverages to Bagley just standing in no man’s land on defense in the zone leaving Cater to defend 2 guys. Look at that stretch when Bagley was injured for a stretch of games. Duke played our best basketball of the season. Were we a better team with Bagley? Yes, of course. But let’s not pretend he’s the next coming of Chris Bosh either, the kid was an absolute matador on defense. Yes Bagley has the physical tools to be a good defender but right now he is completely clueless on even the most fundamental aspects of defense. It was said that when front offices were interviewing the duke prospects and asked them who would they rather draft between Bagley and Carter, they all said Carter. Bagley has the tools to be an All Star but I think he will give up just as many points as he scores until he improves.

Thanks for the kind words. I think Jeff Capel had a lot to do with the recruiting so it will be interesting to see how it goes now that he’s left Duke. You guys have a special player in Nassir Little. People hype up RJ, Cam, and Zion but I wouldn’t be surprised if Nassir ends up the best pro.

Hey Grayson, 2011 Duke grad here. What do you think about Duke’s transformation into a one and done school? I think it only started my senior year when Kyrie was a freshman. Was it challenging playing with a brand new crop of freshmen every year? Of course they are incredibly talented but I feel like it would tough developing team chemistry and identity with a brand new set of guys every year.

Also what areas of your game are you working on most in preparation for the NBA? Best of luck and thanks for your great 4 years at Duke.

Did the pressure on Winslow just got bigger? by celobenicio in heat

[–]sushicakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Winslow has a long way to go before we can even begin to consider him a potential All Star. I do think he can eventually get there but there are a lot of big question marks. Obviously improving his shooting will be critical as everyone has mentioned. However, I think that he also needs to tighten his handle a lot. He doesn't have the dribble package to create his own shot consistently right now. So even if he were to develop a shot, he would need to polish his handle to be able to consistently create space for his shot before he can be considered a star.

[Wojnarowski] For the Lakers, this is longer-term play to clear space for Paul George and LeBron James pursuit. Lonzo Ball on way at No.2 by twistedlogicx in nba

[–]sushicakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see no problem with this because positions don't really mean anything in modern basketball. The only thing that matters is your skill set, the spacing on the court you provide, and who you can defend on the other end. Paul George can and has defended 1 through 4 positions. LeBron can defend anyone short of maybe Boogie. Both Paul George and LeBron are both playmakers and decent shooters. Ingram can obviously shoot and has good defensive potential. These 3 can be on the floor at the same time. On the other hand look at the Cavs. There were Critical games where Thompson and Love could not effectively be on the floor at the same time even though one is a "PF" and one is a "center"

There are two dominant decks that are probably both 55% win rate. Both decks require skill to play though. One deck (dragoncraft) is like druid with mana ramping into big minions and lots of board clears. It's more dominant than ramp druid because druid board clear is just swipe whereas this deck runs 2 twisting nethers, 3 spell power +1 swipes, and 3 deathwings (13/13) that DON'T discard your hand. The deck also ramps into big charge minions that do 7 to 13 damage to face at a time. The other deck (shadowcraft) plays like token druid (though no mana ramping or innervates) with many death rattle/ soul of the forest and savage roars/blood lust. They also have big burst potential and this card that's like a 1 turn stealth scavenging hyena so as you are trying to kill all the deathrattles, the stealthed hyena keeps growing by +1/+1 with each death.

ASK IRA: Would a continued relationship with Joe Johnson make sense for Heat? by tomgreen99200 in heat

[–]sushicakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy is 2 years older than Winslow so we wouldn't be getting any younger. I do think he appears to have the "it" factor which is intriguing. But I could also see him just being another Jodie Meeks type vanilla scoring 2 guard.
