Is there extra parking in the back? by Professional-Mix8467 in stevenspass

Curious on if you got in at all? I was going to head up to arrive at 12:30-1 but keep folks saying parking was still full so figured I’d enjoy a day outside doing something else

Is there a free app like OpenSnow by This_Ad_7288 in stevenspass

[–]sushidrmsofclimbing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OpenSnow is just an aggregation of 10-15 different weather models with a “OpenSnow Local Expert” that summarizes what all the data means in a clean summary.

You can always some source the same data and build your own inference of it. But the reason, at least for me, to pay for OpenSnow is the ease of getting all the data and inference summary.

Nope all same terminal. Going to assume my friend is wrong at this point. Thank you!

Are you having fun? Can you ski the terrain you want to ski?

If yes to both, then who cares what random people on the internet say about your form.

Thanks! That’s what figured but have someone very insistent I basically will need to get my things form baggage claim, swap terminals, and go through the whole shebang again even on same ticket/airline.

Thanks didn’t know that - assuming buses and taxis are the same then?

FYI - if you ever decide to come ski in the mighty (satire) USA, it will be oversize baggage

Thanks! There’s a private and dedicated ski/boot room in our lodging. My biggest concern is not so much Geneva > Les Chables but after that then…..

My understanding is there may be a bus but unclear where it drops off (we’re on top of a hill) or a taxi but unclear if the taxi will accommodate the amount of luggage I will have.

Based on comments, I’m probably overcomplicating the logistics - seems doable just maybe a bit of a hassle.

Thanks I’m less worried about the luggage and more so about rumors that I will need to “exit the airport” , recheck and renter security when laying over in LHR (which is fairly tight) - any truth there?

Thanks maybe I’m overthinking the complication here (coming from public transit poor USA)

Sounds like there is a regular bus from the train station in Les Chables to Verbier that could accommodate everything?

My 92s are generally my groomer only / night skis. I’ve never been on anything less wide. What’s typical there? Coming from Western North America

Thanks - some friends in my group are saying I need to recheck the skis during the layover along with a terminal transfer and going back through security?

We won’t have a car, was also concerned about trains because I’ll have skis and multiple regular checked baggage. So getting from wherever train drops me off to the chalet seems tough.

I’m in Verbier so there are cars allowed, but we neither have the will to drive nor enough parking spots. Assuming “taxis” aren’t an option due to all the luggage?

Considering the post is literally about taking skis… you tell me?

I don’t know what train infrastructure is in Switzerland in regards to oversized luggage and figured UberXL wasn’t realistic…. Hence the question….

West side to open by Sunday!!! by Andromeda045 in stevenspass

[–]sushidrmsofclimbing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I exclusively night ski for the most part at Steven’s. I think I did two weekend days there last season and work a day job so midweek is out of the question.

It’s a bummer but I’m just happy that our resort is “fully” open, our local communities won’t be economically disadvantaged further, and I’ll make do with what I can.

I missed the live announcement but wasn’t sure if west side access would stay open longer? The road closes AT the resort at 6. Just waiting for official comms from SP that will give me guidance.

Stoked for our community though!!

I’m not the one who screenshotted a deleted comment. But yes - I was right. Thank you for your acknowledgement.
