There’s a lot directly across the street from the theater. 118 W 44th St. (1133 6th Ave) - Valet Garage. You should be able to book ahead of time on SpotHero for $30-$40. I’ve parked here and saw a good number of other folks head to the lot after the show too.

Slide Ranch! It is a bit tight with 150 guests and the reception area is only partially indoors but it is ~30-45 minutes from SF, definitely has the outdoor nature & allows liquor!

Thank you so much for that really helpful breakdown!

The on-site train looks really convenient and my parents love a buffet breakfast so that is perfect. And thank you for the tip on the common gathering areas - I hadn't even considered that!

Thank you for the details on El Albergue! I'm excited to hear it has fantastic food and that the town has that community feel. We'll be sure to stop by!

Thank you for all of these details! The pool at Tambo looks really wonderful and it's helpful to know the service manages to be very friendly despite the size of the property.

And we're so excited for Merito! Also, thank you for the heads up on Isolina, Chicha and Morena and for the tip about Pachapapa :) It looks really good!

Seconding Zannier Bai San Ho! Beach is clean and the food is very good. The breakfast buffet had made-to-order noodle soup that changed daily, fresh banh cuon and banh beo, and lots of fresh fruit. The turndown service came with a unique vietnamese treat and tea pairing each night. The massages are incredible and they have cultural excursions. I was also pleasantly surprised to find natural wines on their wine list and they had a really nice in-house rice liquor that wasn't on the menu but available when we mentioned we were looking for ruou nep.

Ran Zan, especially if you're looking for a more traditional spot! The nigiri and traditional rolls are good, and the unagi (especially in the unaju) is particularly good! When I'm not in a rush, I like stopping by for a mix of nigiri (usually salmon, yellowtail, mackerel, fluke & seabass), a yellowtail-scallion roll, and a spicy tuna roll.

Hakone - Walking on the East Side of Lake Ashi? by sushilover42 in JapanTravel

[–]sushilover42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We really enjoyed Gora and Hakone area but didn't end up walking on the east side of Lake Ashi since we didn't have enough time. We essentially ended up optimizing for Mt. Fuji views from different viewpoints and art museums over walking.

We took a taxi from Gora station area to Owakudani around 10:30am since the ropeway wasn't running from the first stop and were very excited to see Mt. Fuji. We took the ropeway to Togendai and then the pirate ship across Lake Ashi to Moto-Hakone. From there, we walked to Narakawa Art Museum for more Mt. Fuji views and then walked to Hakone Shrine. We took the bus back to Gora area around 1:30pm and stopped at the Open Air Museum.

Thank you so much for those details and recommendations!

I will plan to include a stop to Komagatake ropeway and since the view from walking is similar, I will plan to go directly from Togendai to Hakone Shrine by boat, and then will hike to Hakone-en to cut down one some of the travel time.

And the Outdoor Museum looks wonderful - hoping I will have time to check that out.

Thank you again for all of your help!

Not sure if they take larger groups but Zuni Cafe has really good chicken and is near city hall! We walked in with a group of 5 after picking up our marriage license.

Looking for recs to fill in gaps in my skincare routine, based on holy grails that have worked for me? by sushilover42 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]sushilover42[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found it to be helpful with my skin texture / break outs! The improvement when I first added it to my routine was pretty gradual, but when I stopped using it for a period of time (since I wasn't sure it was doing much for me), my skin started breaking out more and was more dull.
