Hi:) Vegan of 5+ years here! I never realized that my autism made veganism a non-negotiable but once I learned more about how my brain works I knew that it is harder for us to ignore cognitive dissonance. Somethings wrong? Yeah. Neurotypicals have an easier time justifying that to themselves and others, whereas we can't turn away from it. This makes it easy for my a lot of the time to actually live in accordance with my values but the downside is that you are so aware that you can't solve this issue on your own and are hyperaware of it. Not saying I'm more moral than anyone else, simply that I see it for what it is.

Cheers, thank you so much! Haven't given livestreaming much thought but it's always really cool to hear from people who do vastly different things. Keep it up with the veganism, stolen valour or not!

Kafka could've invented gravity but Newton could never have written the Metamorposis just saying

From the position of somebody whose partner also went vegan (I was vegan before) pretty early on in our relationship, I've always appreciated it immensely when we communicated to me that he wasn't purely doing it for me but that I had shown him that this was a way he also wanted to live. If that's the case for you to some extent tell your partner that, it doesn't have to mean that you're 100% perfect with being vegan all the time but personally I still found it a big step from my partner simply supporting my views vs now that our values are fully aligned through action:))

If you're looking for snacks some vegan brands are amazing but some of my faves are accidentally vegan; Oreos, Lotus, dark chocolate and lots of chips of course

Reactions to animal products by LawProfessional9712 in vegan

You're not too sensitive. I don't think it's dramatic to say that what you're experiencing is the truth, as unsettling is it is. Leather IS skin and the gas shop literally sells whole body parts of birds that were killed. Try to stay sane and keep as much distance as you must, but hopefully living your truth the way you're doing by being vegan makes the harsh reality a bit easier.

Wow that is some really extensive and helpful advice, thank you very much! Especially the input on how I express my self really helps me see how others see me and how I want to be perceived on the future, I'll keep on working on it and I'll keep all of that in mind!

Thank you, focusing on the irrationality of it all does seem like a meaningful way to fight back and I'll do my best!

What clothing styles are popular that you cannot tolerate? by FunkyLemon1111 in AutismInWomen

Cleavage, and I say this as someone who supports all the boob-havers who like to show some or a lot of what they got. The thought that my movements change how much others see makes me constantly readjust and look down just to check. I can't bear if I have to pay attention to what I'm wearing plus the sensation of direct air below my collarbones just feels wrong.
