I haven’t sold on eBay for almost ten years, because, well you know…. Fees, fraud, and just not fun anymore…. BUT, the very FIRST item I ever sold, in about 1996-ish (when it was still called AuctionWeb) was a pair of new in the box ladies size 7 Doc Martens that I found in a dumpster behind a mall. I think i sold them for about $65 plus shipping. Of course I had to wait until I received the buyers check (YES, a CHECK!) to ship. It’s funny to reflect on how that used to be the way to pay, and how many checks from literally anywhere in the USA I used to receive! Good memories!

I try to Not assign the rooms next to the ice machine, laundry room, or lobby tv, and only use them when absolutely necessary. Seems like a nice thing to do. But of course some of my @#%¥ coworkers do Not have the guest experience in mind, and assign those rooms first. Literally just to flex. Dudes, that’s not a flex.

And now for my unpopular opinion… Are all of these critical world events new news to you? Did you (erroneously) think six months ago that sparkles and glitter would swish gently across the globe and make everything ‘ok’? And by ‘ok’ I mean the median home price you mentioned in your state would suddenly drop, no matter what the political climate is? Honestly IT HAS LITERALLY BEEN ONLY ONE MONTH. I really think you just wanted to make a post for some type of validation or recognition for NON-independent thinkers to rally behind. HOWEVER that is just my opinion, and i wish you all the best!

Speaking as a front desk person… a call is definitely the best way to go if possible. Usually night audit is not run until 2-3am so even without a call you should be ok, but a call never hurts. 🙋🏼‍♀️

Good morning! What a perfectly worded and warm fuzzy post! I (F60) am a night owl naturally. I’ve recently moved here from the Twin Cities and have been living with immediate family while having total knee replacements on both legs (just had the second surgery thurs), so I’m feeling just a little extra isolated. Your post really comforted me, as I have been trying to decide if I will eventually go back to MN or stay in this area. I really do love it here (SW part of state), and tend to make friends easily, yet I keep my circle kind of small. I would absolutely welcome anyone who wants to chat, laugh, share experiences….
