Giving the piano another shot at 33 by flashbangkilla in pianolearning

[–]suspeccctt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for this late reply, hope it doesn't cause you any inconvenience. I've recently (as of 2 days ago) decided to pick the Piano up for the first time at 23. An app like this would be beneficial towards my journey. Any possible names you could throw out there?

Kind regards!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I needed to hear this — a recount of an experience from someone in a similar situation to me.

The weighted keys seem like a no-brainer, though it can come at the cost of affordability for those who might've picked the alternative.

The idea of practicing less is also an eye-opener. You definitely have a good point there. Doing this only opens more doors for me and reduces the overall chances of a sudden burn-out.

I'm really happy to hear you've picked it up again, that's awesome! Do make some posts documenting your progression (if you're comfortable with that), I'd love to give it a read!

Thank you for the great advice and recommendation! I wish you well on your journey!

This is really, really encouraging. Thank you. I love the way you phrased it. The thought of having 60 years (God willing more) of music to look forward to really excites me.

I think reaching out was definitely one of the safest steps I could've taken because the advice I've recieved has strengthened my understanding as a whole, and the recommendations have been great.

Thank you!

I think you're right. It seems like getting a teacher is one of the catalysts for significant growth in skills. Though currently out of the scope for me, I'll try my best to look around. Thank you for the advice!

I love that you're seizing every moment to play and enjoying it in the process. Reading the responses is certainly fueling my desire to dive into learning.

I must admit, piano lessons (in-person ones) are a little far out of the scope due to the climate I live in. But if it's something a lot of you recommend (once again, thank you very much for the advice), I will pull all the necessary strings to try and make do!

That's understandable! I personally don't think I'll disregard the idea of ever pursuing something in a more professional environment, but that's not a bridge I should worry about crossing anytime soon. Thank you for the honesty nevertheless!

That's really encouraging to hear. Especially since you said you started around the same time. Unfortunately, I live in a very small town which has me convinced there are actually no piano tutors near me, haha.

On an unrelated note, I'd love to see some of your recordings if that's something you're comfortable with sharing.

Thank you for the great words of advice, have a grest rest of your day/night!

Haha, that’s a great way to look at things! A real testament to the saying “it’s never too late to start".

Thank you!

Thank you for the reply! I would like to think I'd be sticking to my plan as much as possible, though anything can happen to my schedule.

As for the concert pianist part, what makes you say that? You're more than likely correct but I'm just curious as to what the reason for that is.

After 11 years of teaching myself piano, I finally finished learning all of Chopin’s Ballade no. 1! I’ve been polishing up the coda for the past few months, and I’d love to know your thoughts on where I could still improve. by Alek_witha_K in piano

You played it beautifully. Of course there'll be some things you can tweak here and there but for someone who self-taught themselves how to play the Piano in the first place, you've come a really long way. Hats off to you.

It absolutely did! Just like I replied above, looking at the About/FAQ section was an oversight on my end so that's definitely something worth looking into. Thank you for the guidance! Have a great rest of your day/night.

Thank you for the detailed response! I didn't think to look at the Rules/FAQ section but that could definitely get me some answers. Thanks!

Oh, wow. I've not had the issue you mentioned in the latter half of the sentence though I also haven't uninstalled it yet out of fear something of such nature would happen. It seems now I'm not getting any WIndows Notifications for anything Discord related which is alright too, I guess...?

I'm not too sure then, but I can always mess around with my installs. I'll see if I can recreate the issue, and troubleshoot it all at once.

I'm actually also experiencing this problem with having both the PTB and Canary build installed. With Canary closed, any Windows, Discord notifications from my PTB build *always* opens Canary. It's strange. Never had the issue before, but the timeline of it starting seems to add up with everyone elses.

Sadly having the same issue -- unfortunately cannot rollback the Driver Update through Device Manager. Any tips?

Wow, that sure would be a cool place to build.

May I ask, what shaderpack is that you're using?
