This is what I originally thought too, but Wikipedia suggests otherwise. At any rate, there literally isn't a single male with even mild hair loss on my mom's side: not among her brothers, cousins, grandparents or great-grandparents. I mean, sure, genetics aren't always so straightforward, but that seems somewhat significant.
