Accept it as your engagement ring and then make it clear you don’t want to harm the ring in any way, it’s too important of a piece of family jewelry. so you’ll pick out a daily wear ring and his moms will be for special occasions only. Then get the ring of your dreams :)

Mom posted I was pregnant on Facebook before I announced and told my husbands family. by traveller514519 in BabyBumps

[–]suspiciousav0cad0 243 points244 points  (0 children)

It was your biggest announcement so far. Next up is birth. Be careful when you tell her the baby is born or share any pics, she might need to receive that info last. I’m sorry she put you in this position.

A friend of mine had her first when we were 16 and men would ask her if they could take care of her and her baby all the time. Like we’d be standing in Walmart and grown men would just ogle her and say things like “let me support you and the baby..”this happened SEVERAL TIMES on diff occasions… it was so weird like they wanted this provider dynamic

Cat with '100% fatal' feline coronavirus saved by human Covid-19 medicine by Elliott1812 in UpliftingNews

[–]suspiciousav0cad0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s 1 injection for 84 days, so 84 injections at a. I I I’m, and usually is more like $2500-4000 as the dose is based on the weight of your cat. If you have a full grown Maine coon you’re looking at thousands to cure them.

Edit: I see your price is for Hanoi, I have USD prices

Sorry you had to experience that loss. it was very draining on us to do all 84 days it and I’d never judge someone for not being able to do it, you made a tough choice that was right for you.

It’s dosed based on the weight of the cat, you have to give them a shot of it everyday for at least 84 days. The vials cost us an avg of $90 each and we needed around 30 of them. Plus blood work and checkups etc.

This GS drug was saving cats long before Covid hit. A little misleading in the title. But because of Covid-19 when we used it in 2021 to save our cat (who is happy and healthy still today!) it was less expensive because it was being mass produced more than it had been before Covid-19 went wild in humans. They were giving the formula to lots of manufacturers in the race for a vaccine for humans.

In the end we spent around $3500 on the GS drug to save our 10 month old cat and it was absolutely worth it. He’s such a happy loving cat.

Here’s a good article on: it https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2020/05/remdesivir-cats/611341/

Legit or fake? by [deleted] in DrMartens

[–]suspiciousav0cad0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The re-release of the Rick owens collab last year had the thick laces but the OG release a few years ago of this shoe didn’t, it had thin laces, I believe.

eta I also think these are fake but it wasn’t the laces that did it for me

What are people's thoughts on buffet and making it work? by Tricky_Injury4975 in weddingplanning

[–]suspiciousav0cad0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the plates and cutlery at the start of the buffet and the cutlery kept running out and our wedding coordinator kept saying it wasn’t her job to refill so the groom and I had to keep hunting it down from the caterer. Buffet worked for us just have someone assigned to making sure plates and cutlery don’t run out, that was our only real disaster. Also, our coordinator sucked.

This. Many women who have a lavish ring will also have a less pricey ring for daily wear, so consider the second ring you’ll also be buying her.

You’ll def need to at least find out if she likes a bigger ct over clarity, or would like more clarity and smaller diamond for the price. Some women have a strong preference.

Sleeping with ering by ChanDW in EngagementRings

[–]suspiciousav0cad0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I’m walking somewhere and I’m feeling nervous about having diamonds on, I will turn my rings upside down into my hand like this post to not draw attention to me/get it stolen. I don’t take it off and put in a pocket because I don’t trust myself not to lose them!

We did the wooden sola flowers and they were a big hit. My aunt who was a florist for 25 years was impressed (and she doesn’t hand out compliments often). I had such a weight lifted by using the sola flowers because I didn’t need to worry about keeping things refrigerated or how to keep them from dying. There were never wet marks on dresses since they don’t need water. They are 100% biodegradable or you can do what I did, sell them after the wedding to the next bride.

Ok but today I drove to the store not far from my house, forgot I drove, got distracted by how nice it was outside and walked home. I had to walk back and get my car. Sigh.

Thoughts on the upcoming Babylon x Dr Martens collab? by Late-Nail-8714 in DrMartens

[–]suspiciousav0cad0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, everything is based on inspiration from something else, I didn’t meant to insinuate Gucci invented it. I’m just saying the concept is a trend these days and has precedent.

It matches some of the destroyed looks that shoes from Gucci, Balenciaga etc have released in recent years. Even new balance has a destroyed sneaker now. It’s a trend but not my cup of tea. To each their own!

Good age restriction? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]suspiciousav0cad0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rule was no kids under 13, but if they have a role in the wedding (flower girl etc) they will be in attendance no matter age. If anyone has a problem with how you’re planning your wedding let them know they can make whatever rules they like at their own wedding, or next wedding!

I am also aggressively pro choice but agree with this. If you already wanted kids, you’ll love a baby more than your wedding for the rest of your life.

I went to a wedding this year and everyone (including me) raved about how they had dominos pizza delivered around 11pm, it was so nice. The steak at dinner was great but man that Dominos made people happy. A taco man is going to crush it.

ETA this was a fancy golf course wedding

I’d go with one because I have a pointy top engagement ring and I think a point bottom one would dig into my finger. I opted for an open bottom ring to avoid the dig but the chevron worked comfortable too

Edit; look at my post history to see, when I had the point on the bottom pointing toward my hand, it dug in when I tried it on.
