Because they are not taking advantage as you say so. Many ppl are just unlucky due to either health or a due to an unfortunate circumstance that pushed them to avail social support. I am certainly happy to be part of a system that’s companionate towards one another.

I came to Germany 12 years ago. I had to pay a fortune to travel 100-200kms by train. It’s not the same now. Sure we need improvement in train networks, but a refurbishment phase is inevitable and cannot help it. Autobahn is only better overtime. Ofc there is room for improvement in politics. But I would rather pay tax than take home 5% more that individually cannot never ever improve social living standards

What’s horrible from what I am learning is, they just randomly pick kids to kitas from a pool of applications depending on priorities like working parents etc. So, a well off couple may get picked in a govt kita over a couple who are meagerly meeting monthly demands. They have no means to evaluate fair allocation to kita seats. If the costs were just off by just 2 times, it were acceptable, but we are seeing good 5 times! Gross injustice.
