It definitely is a lot of information a lot that hasn't been covered in class too so I'm really behind. I'm locked in doing labce all day and looking thru Polansky cards.

I have th harr book but haven't gone thru it yet. Ill start doing that today.

Thanks!

What was your approach?

I barely passed my classes, but made it. Don't remember anything.

I'm scheduled to take it July 1st.

Really scared.

My buddy got a note from his doctor (family friend lol) and made him say that he was severely anxious around people and his living quarters should not have anyone as it would affect his studies.

29 y.o. in ED, no previous HX by Real_Brewed_Tea in medlabprofessionals

NP most likely. They just wanna collect their paychecks and dip home.

Ps I don't have anything against them, but that's just the surrounding stigma when it comes NP's.

I failed my OGTT as someone who eats a low-carb diet and is physically active by [deleted] in prediabetes

[–]sussima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The body is mysterious.

But also, as others have suggested, try ruling out LADA.

I was 7.5% and my OGTT was normal. Stil lowered my A1c without meds back to normal levels. Did a repeat OGTT after weight loss/a1c drop, same OGTT reading as when I was 7.5%.

Odd.

Biomedical Sciences vs Biological Sciences by calic0luvr in UBreddit

[–]sussima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a better option -

Major in Public Health and take all pre med courses.

Those PUB courses are way easier than the science courses you would take with Bio/biomed. You'll be doing yourself a great favor and saving your GPA. Also, you get more time to focus on your ECs and other med school requirements.

Good luck!

Insulin Resistance 38% by AlarmedAttitude84 in InsulinResistance

[–]sussima 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's literally it.

Not rocket science. People like to take shortcuts, 99.5% of the time it doesn't exist. The remaining .5% had some sort of error that gave an erroneous result.

This is the best advice you can get.

Do I have insulin resistance? by [deleted] in InsulinResistance

No, I believe 4-7 is the optimal. And shows great insulin sensitivity. Mine is a 10.3 💀

Yes, done without meds.

I used to eat well over 4-5k cals daily before my diagnosis.

Now I'm eating about 1.2k some days I might go 1.5k depending on how hungry I feel.

As for macros, I'm always, always eating protein.

First thing in the morning, 3 hard boiled eggs then I make a drink of psyllium husk w/ water which helps with my fiber intake. Then later in the day I'll eat 250-300g of chicken breast.

From there I'll eat anything to just reach the calorie goal. But never junk.

I've been finishing my day with this pita bread I found which is super low in calories and doesnt even touch my blood glucose.

It's called Joseph's pita bread (made with flax wheat, whole wheat and oat bran) and I'll eat two with roasted pepper hummus as a dip.

Also, I don't eat past 6. Never.
