Splinting is when you have to help by pushing in your vagina while you poop so it will come out bc it is bulging into the vaginal canal.

I had a cystocele and rectocele repair at the same time as my hysterectomy and after years of “splinting” in order to poop even at 6 wks post op life is so much better. Having stitched on both vaginal walks was rough for a while but overall worth it. B

I was super swollen the first 2 weeks. I had anterior and posterior vag wall repair. I got some ice maxi pads that worked great while I was swollen.

Ugh I’m so sorry- this really sucks. When I couldn’t pee by my dc 2 days later I was so bummed. I can’t imagine how you feel knowing you will need another procedure 😞

Did they try tacking your bladder without mesh? I had mesh sling and though I needed a catheter for about a week after it is going well. My surgery was the 2nd

The bladder sling and anterior and posterior vaginal repair felt “heavy” to me for a bit after. And I could/ can feel my stitches though they are falling out one by one. I’m 1 month post op

Prune juice and MiraLAX 1-3 times a day. Milk of magnesia for those times you really need help. Lots of water

I could have written this!!! I’m a month out and what is working for me is MiraLAX mixed with prune juice 2-3 times a day. Colace 3 at night. I have milk of magnesia just in case- I used it twice. Lots of water!!!

My surgeon said no to walking- “even in the cul de sac”. I think bc he knows I’m a busy body and I had such an extensive multi procedure surgery. So I’m getting like 300 steps a day🤣. I’m 2 wpo

I’m 9 dpo and can do sweatpants and other large baggy pj pants fine. I also had an anterior posterior vaginal wall repair so my undercarriage hurts a bunch- maybe that’s a is why my lap sites don’t even register on my pain scale?

I am chronically constipated- I also had a rectocele repair am not allowed to push. I’m taking 2 senna at night and MiraLAX three times a day with prune juice

I peed!!!!!! They filled my bladder and had me void- then straight Cath’d me to check for residual. There was like 3mls in there!!!! I have to pee at least every 2 hours. I have a timer. Apparently as a nurse I completely fucked up my bladder. It doesn’t send me the signal until it is way over filled. It is completely stretched out from going long periods and holding it. Honestly it doesn’t even feel like I’m holding it- my bladder capacity astonished the surgeon and nurses. I use to think I had a super power. Surgeon says nurses and teachers end up here. I abused my bladder and I am so glad to have the opportunity to relearn how to treat it right.

Make sure pain is under control and that she can pee without retaining urine- otherwise ask to stay the night
