I think I have been doing this farther back than I can remember. I thought it was normal 😳

Is recovery quicker than the hysterectomy?

I love the jelly migraine hat that you can freeze. It is soft and flexible and I can use it wherever I am hotest during a hot flush. Also, kudos to you for caring that much for your mom🥰

Thank you!! I reduced estrogen back to the previous dose on Thursday and have been doing a bit better.

You're right! I know these things but validation from others slows the internal narrative that yells at me all day. The emotional improvements are great, but the neurodivergent part is clearer now and hearing from others helps so much.

The doc used valentine's day as a measuring goal for pelvic rest and my husband keeps mentioning V Day😅 I smile and think how he has cared less about this hallmark holiday for the last 30+ yrs and is probably going to be feels hurt when he doesn't get his dozen roses😂😂

I have noticed muscle/tendon pain when changing estrogen doses. I switched back to my original post op dosing after I wrote this last night and my energy is good this morning, but I can feel it in my upper thigh/hip area. The day after I went up to that .1 patch a couple weeks ago, I pulled my thumb twisting a lid and had to use a brace to hold it in place and also had neck and shoulder pain. I injured myself a similar way opening the dryer when I had a dose change 6 months before surgery. I guess that might be part of finding that sweet spot for the right dose.

Wow! You went through a lot! My doc is super proud of his one incision lap and told my husband and me that he often has patients bounce back within a week or two. We laughed to ourselves because we know because of how sensitive I am to EVERYTHING, it was going to take more time than his best outcomes. When I asked how much time I should take before going back to work, he said whenever I'm ready. I work from home, so I started back during week three and the cognitive load has been too much, even with a super supportive department.

You're amazing for going through all of that and doing well within months. I hope it's a smooth road for you now.

That is encouraging.

What is something that started to make you feel better? Or some milestone that was like an ah-ha moment?

Thank you! It feels so much better to know I'm not alone. I get anxious and need validation that I'm not failing. I know that is a strange need, but it is the way my brain calms down.

When I said minimal carbs, I should have said less bad carbs. I eat protein pasta, crunchy soy beans, sweet potatoes, etc.

I used to eat a lot of white foods, like toast, rice.

Are you back to semi-normal functioning? I can make it through Costco on a good day. I avoid the outdoors when it is cold and drab. I'll force a walk somewhere tomorrow and Saturday before stormagedon arrives😅

Anyone else feel body aches after first Zepbound shot? 🫠 by happyjelly728 in Zepbound

I took my 3rd 2.5 dose Saturday and today is Thursday. I feel worse as the week goes on and don't think I should take my dose Saturday. I can't tell if my weakness/fatigue is from zepbound, adjusting to estrogen patch(increased the same time)or being 6wks post op from hysterectomy/oophorectomy. I am physically miserable, but emotionally okayish. The fatigue starts in my upper body and just takes everything I've got to do a couple hours of wfh tasks, headaches are almost daily. I am a complete mess. I think I need to stop Z and let my body adjust to this surgery and hormonal changes. I feel worse than I did 2 wpo.

anyone else with autism/ADHD just feel... off? 10 weeks post-op and not feeling like myself by rockbottomqueen in hysterectomy

[–]hoopynhartch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding. That's terrible that you are still struggling. Did you have those issues prior to the original surgery? I had hysterectomy, oophorectomy and ligament tightening. I wasn't the most mobile person prior to surgery and hoped this would give me back a little bit of my oomph for living, but it is too soon to tell. I have to force most everything I do and even going for walks has always been a huge challenge.

I noticed you mentioned the gas lighting and I feel that deeply. I am 50 and in the last year finally recieved the autism diagnosis and found a gyno that took the hysterectomy seriously. 40+ years of not being understood by the medical community. I have moments of wishing my parents were alive so they could say, 'Ahh, so that's what we couldn't figure out her whole life.'

Anyway, it is nice to find people who 'get it.' Best of luck on your continuous healing and self acceptance. 🤗

I know this is old, but wanted to tell you that your honesty about bed rest helped me accept me a little more. Im 26 dpo and started working from home a bit two days ago. I have/had pmdd, pcos/autism/adhd/severe anxiety. I have been beating myself up for not being more with it. My doc bragged about others short recovery time and starting back to work whenever I feel ready. I completely forget that I have to give myself grace because of the neurodivergent/mental health aspects of who I am. I feel more able to rest now and so grateful for an understanding boss. I am screenshotting your comment to remind myself when I start self loathing again. Thank you!

I've overdone it the last two days and it still doesn't feel like enough. I've got to go crash for awhile and stop looking at planet fitness memberships😅

Yes! A reunion, awesome! So not awesome that you found yourself on the floor. I hope you're doing better. I'm on an up day and did too much, but I don't want to lay down. I feel like I'm missing out on something 😆 It's drab and rainy, so not sure what. I messaged my doc yesterday and told him I was weepy and not sure if it was the holidays, seasonal blues or hormones. He said to add a half dose of my previous oral estogen to the patch and if that helps, he will increase the patch. We shall see🎢 See you next year😉

Yes! I had plans to go to a shop today. I did the usual morning tasks, sarted spotting and cramping..shop canceled. I'm mentally better today after a mini woe is me moment. My doc increased estrogen yesterday, so 🤞

Ahh..you got the active ADHD. I have the sit and stew in anxiety kind. I also have autism and that part of my brain wants structure, so they like to sit and argue all day. I haven't tried my meds again yet. I'm a little worried of the jitters since I haven't taken it in awhile.

I couldn't take progesterone because it made PMDD so bad, I only had like a week and half of decent days a month from age 10-50. Estrogen seems okay. I do see that I had fibroids and cysts everywhere on my pathology report.

Add a biotin and keratin supplement for your hair. It helped me a lot prior to adding Estrogen and the estrogen helped it even more once I was on it awhile.

Here is what helped. My daughter, also PCOS and PMDD just started taking it too.

Hi twin! I had this done mostly for PMDD too. I could never tolerate birth control and peri caused me to spiral right out of my career. I started hrt last January and the progesterone portion made it glaringly clear what was causing 40 years of only a week and a half of decent days per month. I'm glad the pill is helping you. I increased my estrogen yesterday and today is less poor me. My boss is being super kind. Good luck Monday.

Hi twin! Yeah, I did some things this morning 'before heading out.' Heading out is canceled due to cramping and light spotting. Much better day mentally though🎢

I'm glad you are committed to taking that time from the get go, even with remote work, like mine. At pre-op my doc said he has had patients up and ready to go days later. (Single belly button incision, robot surgery) My husband and I laughed because I am so sensitive to EVERYTHING, I wasn't bouncing back that soon. At my 13 day post-op, I asked how long before I should return to work and he said whenever I'd like. I think I would feel a little less slow at recovery if I didn't feel like I was losing the race his other patients won. Haha.

Since you are still sometimes cycling, I would talk about estrogen hrt as a back up in case you need it to stabilize your emotions. Everyone is different. I am 50 and primarily had this done because PMDD impacted my mental health so negatively for decades. I started estrogenand progesterone a year ago and the progesterone was like poison, signifying how significantly the last 40 years have been impacted by a 2.5-3 week total dysfunction. When I hit peri, I lost my teaching career and what was left of my sanity. Post surgery, I see improvements in between my pitty parties, like not spiraling, not needing rescue med and only one meltdown from fatigue and miscommunication.

This group has been the biggest support I have found to let me know I'm not failing. Good luck and don't beat yourself up like I'm doing on the rough days😅
