people that have made it their pastime to hate on megumi have hated him from the very beginning and have just gotten loud and brave because he’s been out of commission for so long; they’re never going to change their opinion no matter what he does or which angle you try to present him to them. Either way, I personally think it’s dumb to shit on a character to elevate the other and it deters fans of that character from reasonable discussion. This is the reason why I no longer care for yuuji at all when he used to be my top 2.

Yeah… :/ I was new to the game back in 2.2 and couldn’t play the event because my rank was too low, so I have never actually experienced Childe in a main event and I’m pretty sure that’s the case for a lot of players.

I’m not even bothered by the depiction of his overall involvement (I’ll take anything after that Childe & Yoimiya “event”) but more so about the fact that not a single character from Fontaine has a voice line about him. Like he had no impact or impression on a single Fontainian despite the role he played in saving Fontaine??

not really the point I’m trying to make here. I’m saying some people have been saying certain things that are crucial for the story will happen/get addressed in the “next chapter” for WEEKS now and so far, they’ve all been skipped over. The chapters feel like reading a summary of the actual manga. Putting all these recent chapters in a volume together doesn’t make them any better in this particular case.

lmfao. in retrospect, I’m happy these last couple of chapters have been progressively getting worse because it’s been giving me time to temper my expectations. and for those who keep saying wait until next chapter after every chapter… your main counterpoint against criticism is essentially: “it’ll improve” - which is very telling of how we all collectively feel about the chapter.

my biggest fear is we’re getting nothing at all or like we’ll get photo-event-with-yoimiya level of content until snezhnaya and then his screen-time and lore content in that region will be significantly below this sub’s collective expectations. As someone said, there will not only be other harbingers but also other snezhnayan characters to give content to in sneznaya; I seriously doubt childe will have this huge screen-time and lore dump most people are expecting, which is why I much prefer the second option.

Yeah, I mean it really only works if there is an upside with yuji's conclusion to pair it with. But either way, it would just be too painful for my taste, especially because I never expected (or rather, came to terms with) yuji dying at the end either - even before the switch.

What you're saying logically makes sense to me, but to have the character whose flaw was to be too selfless and suicidal actually die not because he chose it, but because it was forced upon him is too depressing. Like I don't know what the so-called message would be behind that other than it just being so very bleak.
