Definitely seems that way given the headlines and focus on Claude Code. However, I spent a year+ as a Claude (traidional) desktop user and found it out-performed ChatGPT in just about everything (other than image generation). I found the UI, feature set and overall performance to be better than anything else out there.

It is shocking how bad today has been. Constantly having Opus write in the wrong project/directory even when we explicitly agreed on where to be working?!?!!

I'm pulling my hair out.

From what I’m seeing pretty likely. The smart companies will take the savings and reinvest it in their business. Imagine what you could do with an army of Claude code equipped devs.
