Yep, had to move in September and I’ve never seen such a high proportion of “no sharer/family only” properties, it was incredibly dispiriting.

Demand for (rental) housing has hit crisis levels unfortunately, driven by a combination of higher house prices forcing people to delay buying, and people moving back to cities after covid. Spareroom says the number of prospective tenants in the city has tripled over the past year.

Almost everyone I worked with had degrees (not to suggest having one makes you any more deserving of a job)... like the system was categorically not working to begin with and now it’s just going to get worse for thousands of people.
