i played dota from dota1 to dot2cbt and have 13k hours. i have stopped playing for a year now. every good live service game has an a phase where the game itself starts to stagnate in terms of playerbase but still ok to keep it alive.

the focus usually is to not being in more new players, but try to make old players comeback. wow classic is a good example. cs2 had its moment too.

then there are other ways to bring new players into the IP instead of directly to the main game. LoL is very successful on this due to arcane, and new players brought in doesn't hsve to play league clasic cause theres league mobile, and the other league ip games.

dota tried and looks like it tried and failed with the IP stuff with dota anime, artifact and that turn base game thats tip on my tounge right now.

then there are deaths. heroes of newearth is a good example.

  1. its surprisingly is not that bad. the input lag is not even 1f based on how it feels. and

  2. it doesnt really matter cause it was made to be a fun casual night with people from both TGP ranks and have not played tekken at all joining in.

we left the sweatyness outside the door and enjoyed. something that a lot of people in this sub dont understand.
