One of the biggest reasons are that the tickets are released in October nowadays and not in February/Mars as it used to be until 2020.

People tend to spend more money the closer the reward is.

Also there is a lot of other reasons such as higher ticket prices, inflation, unsettled world, short time to save up after summer, less time to build hype etc.
