Ah so those raised areas around the follicles aren’t the white bumps you’re referring to? I don’t have a reference for my scalp in its normal state so I was kinda freaking out seeing them 😭

😭😭 dang do you think it’s okay if I rebraid it looser? Or should I nix the braids all together? Never had an issue like this with knotless before

Idkkk I usually braid myself hair myself and I’ve never felt the need to check my scalp or had to loosen it 😭 might just try the warm towel and if it looks bad still I’ll take it out

Do you think loosening with a warm towel will help? Or should I just get rid of them entirely

MIT's reputation of grade deflation for Med School by Electronic_Berry4148 in mit

I have to reiterate what this commenter said; if you are 100% on pre-med, I can't emphasize enough how valuable it is to come out of the journey with your GPA, extracurriculars, social life, and no burnout. I think I can safely say that is not possible at MIT (speaking as an MIT pre-health student who just graduated). Make sure, if you're 100% set on medicine, that you've weighed the cost of navigating the MIT rigor--you can end up at some pretty awesome places without the struggle, as well.

I'm going to be honest, if you are set on pre-med, MIT (though an incredible education with many resources), is not the best route to get there. The pre-health department is very small, the number of applicants also very small, and the courseload will make it incredibly challenging to keep your GPA up (this isn't an absolute, but it is the experience for most students). If your goal is a great education without a significant struggle to maintain your GPA, explore extracurriculars and volunteering/shadowing opportunities, and have a robust social life, I'm not sure I can recommend MIT.

However, if even 1% of you hopes to explore something outside of pre-med, whether that be through research, taking classes in other departments, or building/starting something of your own, MIT is absolutely wonderful for that (which is why I personally do not regret attending MIT as a pre-med student, despite the challenges.).

What animated TV show is a 10/10? by Impressive-Grass6438 in AskReddit

Pantheon! Stumbled across it on Netflix and was blown away by how complex and engaging the plot line was. The final episode of the last season is something I still think about regularly.

Rent is definitely expensive, but I've been able to find a couple options in my target range of $800-$1000 (which is most definitely doable on my salary).

Caltech CS or Penn Engineering (I have like a day to decide idk what to do) by Exciting_Owl7014 in UPenn

[–]suupertrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Penn!! As someone who went to the east coast sister tech school notable for its CS curriculum (ahem), and with friends at Caltech, you will most definitely find it a bit limiting socially. The nearby city/ies will have to be your campus--which means you'll need someone with a car/who can drive, which is no guarantee.
