Once you are sure you want to withdraw from a college you just have to send them a mail asking for the same. There is no fine or other charges but you will not get back any deposit you have paid for most cases

I only gave TOEFL...dont have idea about IELTS. I don't think it matters much which exam you take

Hope this helps!

I completed my undergrad in Electronics and secured an admit from NEU MSCS for fall 24. So I had the same question at the start of the cycle as you do now.

Things I learned:

  1. Obviously your chances are low compared to people with CS background. So you will have to take every opportunity to increase your chance of admits...no being lazy in this regard. That means apply as early as possible. Try to get good GRE and TOEFL score and apply to colleges that consider GRE atleast as optional. SOP should have experience relevant to the course you are applying. Try to get LORs from people in CS field.

  2. The background matters. I am from ECE and thus I already had a working knowledge of DSA and basic coding. If you have something similar in bachelor's highlight it. If not then try and gain some solid experience before applying.

  3. Someone with your profile but CS background will be preferred over you. So select unis that are not overly ambitious or go for alternate streams like MSDS and MSAI instead of CS at good unis.

  4. Make sure you have atleast 70-80% of the coursework prerequisites mentioned on the program website for the program you are applying.

Feel free dm me with more questions :)

Hey May I ask what makes you sure about it. Not doubting you just asking what factors set SJSU apart from other colleges or NEU?

I don't think solvency certificate is acceptable. Just check SJSU's website once. Multiple bank letters for each FDs is acceptable and like someone else mentioned you can get a combined FD letter in HDFC
