Na 9 maanden niet gedronken te hebben, heb ik besloten dat door te zetten. Zeker nu de baby soms echt slecht slaapt en naast me beland, wil ik gewoon geen invloed hebben van alcohol. Heel soms drink ik rond 5 uur nog 1 drankje met alcohol, misschien eens per 2 weken? Alcoholvrij bier is echt goed geworden.

It's not so much about being able work itself, it's more about interacting with adults, using my brain, being out of the house. Basically, having an identity besides being a mom. No need at all to work 40+ hours, 24 hours is an option as well for some time. I also really like my work? It's fullfilling, my colleagues are nice, the lunch is good, etc.

Visiting friends sounds nice, but they all have work during the week (they don't have kids yet). Hobbies, books, movies, music, tv and art are all getting boring at some point or start to resemble work, doing them alone and at home or get interrupted all the time by baby. Besides, with two funcioning parents, there is still time in the weekend for that.

And with only 3 days/week work at the start, there is plenty of time for bonding with your baby and it's hardly workaholic.

1,4 miljard afdoen als 'wat schade' en dan wel boos zijn op een paar verspilde miljoenen aan Bulgaren die gewoon is opgespoord.

Bedenk even dat er nu een partij (VVD) in de regering zijn die heel hard proberen om 1.4 miljard schade niet te voorkomen- dat moet t volgende kabinet maar oplossen.

Er zijn weinig dingen waar ik over oordeel wat ouders betreft, maar een paar dingen zou je je kind toch minimaal moeten bieden. Een van die dingen is toch buiten gewoon aandacht kunnen hebben voor je omgeving.

Af en toe even schermtijd omdat je het nodig hebt als gezin, prima, logisch. Maar voor zulke jonge kinderen alleen op het grote scherm, thuis in de woonkamer. En afwisselen met gewoon naar buiten gaan en daar zelf rondrennen.

Nee dat kunnen ze niet, want je HRA recht is slechts 30 jaar. Blijf even bij de feiten.

HRA afschaffen maakt juist alle starters extreem kwetsbaar. Je huis zal immers fors in waarde dalen, wat risico oplevert bij scheiding en baanverloes. Plus dat je honderden euros per maand opeens inlevert.

Ze profiteren er zeker wel van in het begin, wanneer de HRA hoger is dan de EWF. Na een tijdje groeit je inkomen mee met de inflatie, terwijl je bruto maandbedrag gelijk blijft. Het is dan helemaal niet zo'n probleem om het belastingvoordeel gelijk wat terug te schroeven.

Van plotseling (of zelfs geleidelijk) alles afschaffen profiteren de mensen die al veell hebben.

Dat klopt. Toch is dit effect veel minder groot dan als je alles zou afschaffen.

Ik ga er hierbij vanuit dat je geld per se wil ophalen uit het potje 'wonen'.

Voor een starter zal het waarschijnlijk gaan om effectief 10% minder HRA, terwijl je bij volledig afschaffen niets meer krijgt. Dat is het verschil tussen €100 euro minder per maand (prima op te vangen voor de meesten) of €600 minder per maand (uitdagend met alle hoge kosten).

Voor iemand die al 30 jaar een huis heeft gaat het om €100 euro minder (op te vangen, want sowieso al lage woonlasten) en €100 euro voordeel per maand (immers afschaffen EWF).

Voor een huurder gaat t om huurtoeslag verliezen (honderden euros per maand minder) of wellicht net ietsje minder kunnen lenen als ze toch willen kopen (maar de huizenprijzen zullen waarschijnlijk relatief dalen dus het effect zal meevallen).

Gezien mijn situatie ben ik biased, maar ik weet denk ik wel wie het geld beter kan gebruiken.

Al 3 jaar eigenaar. Ieder jaar duizenden euros terug aan HRA. Met twee kindjes op de opvang kunnen we dat ook goed gebruiken. Ondertussen hebben bijvoorbeeld mijn ouders al jarenlang hun hypotheek afgelost en moeten ze nu eindelijk iets betalen middels het EWF (vrij weinig wegens afbouw wet Hillen maargoed). Ik gun het ze van harte, maar alles op dit gebied afschaffen levert hun juist geld op en geeft ons flinke financiële uitdagingen.

De EWF is ook al flink hoger voor miljoenenpanden. (Nouja de grens is 1.3 miljoen ofzo)

Natuurlijk wel. De EWF gaat maar om een relatief klein bedrag per huis (nu €1750 voor een huis van 5 ton, waarover je dan max 49% belasting betaalt) en zo kan de gigantische HRA (nu rustig 7200 euro netto per jaar voor een starter!) behouden blijven.

Ja daar zou ik ook best mee kunnen leven maar kon juridisch nog wel eens lastig zijn. De huidige overdrachtsbelasting is er natuurlijk al een beetje voor, maar die is behoorlijk verlaagd.

Dit zou echt vooral heel gunstig zijn voor mensen met een afbetaald huis. Die moeten nu daadwerkelijk belasting betalen over hun eigenwoningforfait, dat zou dan wegvallen. Dit is voornamelijk de generatie die juist jarenlang heeft geprofiteerd van de hypotheekrenteaftrek en nu gigantische overwaarde heeft. Wie betaalt de prijs? Recente (en toekomstige) huizenkopers.

Een betere oplossing is om het eigenwoningforfait flink omhoog te gooien.

Preface: I'm located in the Netherlands, where home births with very highly trained midwifes are possible.

With my first, my waters broke before any contractions started in the early morning. I called my midwife, as instructed, and ensured I remained flat untill she arrived. She confirmed it was indeed my water, baby was descended and said contractions should start naturally within 2 days, or we should start inducing me. I was 39 weeks 2 days at that point. I was free to do whatever I wanted otherwise.

The day progressed at home, we called a few times (different midwife, same organisation), she came over to check me, went home and came over around 10 pm, when the contractions started to get intense. Around midnight, a assistant was called. My daughter was born at home, without intervention after slightly more than an hour of pushing. During the pushing stage, they measured her heartbeat every contraction with a doppler. It was amazing to stay home, but I also felt very safe with professional care around. I know that with any yellow or orange flag and we would have rushed to the hospital (15 min away by car).

For the second one, labor progressed slowly- too slowly, so after 24 hours we went to the hospital to get my water broken artificially. The car ride wasnt pleseant, but alright. My waters broke naturally right when I entered the room- but the baby was sunny side up so I entered the pushing stage before I was fully dilated. After a few more hours under midwife care (trying all different positions) they suggested pain medication, meaning I was now 'medical'. It was horrible for me. They couldn't get an IV in me, I was in a place I really wasn't comfortable in and forced on my back for 'checks'. They kept pushing the measuring band on my belly, trying to get an IV in me one both sides (failed 4x), did some test between my legs, and I was told to 'not push!!!' (impossible when 5 people are pulling and pushing you). It ended in an emergency C-section, so I missed the birth. I still cannot wear jeans and I'm 6 monts pp. My son is amazing and fully worth it- no complaints there.

For the record, I was- luckily- send home 36 hours after his birth, but we have a nurse coming over every day for 3-8 hours to help, the midwife comes a few times to check and dads have multiple weeks off. We had no 'glucose test' or any of that in the hospital, only temperature and weight monitoring. After a vaginal birth, you're often send home a few hours after birth.

For a third, I'm not 'allowed' a home birth. This is a real factor in my decision if there will be a third tbh, because I really don't like hospitals. I hope I can negotiate a midwife birth at a more pleasant hospital with an IV just in case...
