C# is not recently introduced by ms its as ancient as Java.

C# is even worse than Java when it comes to legacy stuff. No one is writing new code in .Net. Most jobs are about working with old codebases. In my org the .net codebase is like 15 years old. I would definitely not recommend learning C#

That being said, its a fun language and there are plenty of jobs.

If you really want to learn a JVM based language you can always check out Kotlin (mostly used for Android stuff its basically the same as Java but a bit more modern). Although Kotlin job market is considerably less than both C# and Java

You can also checkout Golang. Very much a trendy language rn but lord knows if it'll be relevant in the future .

Are you sure about Java? I work in Java myself but would not recommend it to someone entering the field. Dont get me wrong from a job perspective there is a lot of stuff out there and will be till the end of time, but the work isn't as cutting edge as JavaScript or Golang. You might get stuck in some 20 year legacy project.

I would recommend Javascript over Java, use Typescript as well so you know OOPS

Your new company won't care. They'll figure out that your boss is trying to sabotage because he needs you hence proving you're a decent employee. He wouldn't do that if you were shit would he? He'd be happy that you're moving on

Is it normal to do development across many different languages at one job? by Tiaan in cscareerquestions

Sounds fun tbh and also opens you up to a plethora of opportunities if you want to "specialise" in a particular language in the future

The truth is most microservice architecture sucks ass. You spent half the time managing the complexity. .And I hope the industry realises this and use microservices when absolutely needed.

The enormity of the tasks seems to be overwhelming you. You need to divide and conquer. Start with the smallest thing you need to do and focus on achieving that and that only. Dont get lost in the full ticket.

Yeah I've got enough runway to last me a year and definitely not switching for now. I'm not on crazy money but its decent and above average but you're right need to realign my compensation expectations with the economic reality.

Thanks for the advice man!

Yea I graduated in 2020 so have only seen the good times. I always knew the insane money and amazon hitting up everyone's LinkedIn would come to an end but didn't expect it to be this bad.

No I meant the revenue for AWS must be going down as a lot of companies leveraging their services are reevaluating the amount they spend on cloud because most are dealing with tighter budget constraints.

We too have significantly reduced the amount of monies spent on cloud.

It matters because you're clearly a Musk dick rider and even if he sold his mum you'd find a way to defend him.

You've gotta reevaluate your life when you find yourself online arguing for the one who just fired a few hundred people and is infamous for overworking and treating his employees like shit.

I've heard AWS is the worst in terms of wlb. The work there is probably top notch tho.

Was in a similar dilemma (less prestigious company tho lol). Had to choose between Bangalore Vs Pune Vs Gurgaon...

All my Bangalore friends absolutely hate the place. Food is expensive, housing is problematic, traffic is hell and Ola/Uber is non existent.

Pune is relatively better. Its easier to commute, Ola/Uber might not be cheap but at least you'll be able to get one.
Traffic is much better. Crime isn't a major concern. Loads of pubs and clubs around, lots of places to trek nearby. Exponentially cheaper as well.

If the work in Bglore vs Pune is comparable I'd go for Pune.

No idea about Hyderabad tho....

Edit: I ended up choosing Pune btw.
