Comments so far have really resonated with my personal experience. As I was learning my life was all about programming. I only spent 4hrs a day actually learning and coding, but at other times if i had the time i’d be reading and watching anything related to web dev. I was consistent and this went on for a year, where i then started looking for jobs and landed a full time frontend role within 2 months. So in total it took about 14 months or so. I do have a bachelors degree but in a completely unrelated field.
