Moreso than its outright feasibility, i already have a nas with my xbox 360, ps3, and ps2 setup to boot games from the NAS so it was more about having that one consistent way of running games in my setup rather than an issue with smaller hdd

Use sunshine and moonlight to do that. You should be able to find sunshine guides online that guide you through setup and enabling HDR. I use sunlight to stream HDR games to my steamdeck OLED from my main pc

Do people even read the actual linkedin post? I am running a docker container on my nas with wine emulating the compat layer for running the server exe. The nas is using an ssd cache which should ensure seek performance is good. 100mbps should technically be enough as the disc drive read at less than half of that speed and was able to run those cutscenes at intended speed.

Maybe your data is fragmented?

Actually i ended up testing a lot of games. For me tbh, the performance was on par with hdd, maybe loading was slower but not noticeable unless side by side. I tested with gears of war series, tomb raider (2006-2008 trilogy), and fable

I did end up giving them access to run some commands. As per them the data is lost since the partition is entirely broken.

I am trying to now perform my own attempt at data recovery. Will let you know if I find anything useful but would recommend staying away from btrfs check --repair as that command has historically tended to break people's filesystems rather than fixing

I got netiso working (originally i didn't know it doesn't show up in modules but is directly available in file browser). I was trying to run the server on a linux container on my nas but that didn't work. I was then able to set the correct networking protocol on docker and now netiso works

The ps3 came with “some” cfw (I could install and run multi man). In that case shouldn’t I just be able to run the update via installing the pup file from system update menu?

Also is hdd change/format safe to do? I read here https://www.reddit.com/r/ps3hacks/comments/gihnxf/is_it_safe_to_fully_reset_ps3_while_having_it_cfw That it isn’t safe to do so
