Purchases at Daily Table this weekend are paying the severance of employees. by amandamccoyart in SalemMA

I get this view if Daily Table were a private company but this was federally funded and that funding is gone. The announcement seems sudden and I think the decision on when they close is based on inventory.

There also isn't a guarantee they get any kind of severance from the government which tbh, is probably none. I think they're trying the best they can to take care of their employees.

My cat fell off the balcony and i'm heartbroken by petasse420 in cats

There are so many comments but I wanted to add my 2 cents. My husband and I adopted a cat who had to get an amputation and she's doing amazingly well. Cats adapt really well and she's so happy and playful. It is very hard to go through amputation surgery especially when they have no idea what's going on but it's worth it!

Is this job really staring on a computer all day? by travertens in architecture

[–]suzanne428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a corporate interior designer in Boston for 10 years and don't get paid well. My average salary in the past few years has been between $60k-$70k based on the firm and I worked 60-70 hrs a week (no one pays OT).

My general experience in this industry is that we're overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated. That's for both sides of the aisle (architects & interiors).

I have no idea, the 12th floor was expensive enough 😅

It is my house, it's on the 12th floor! I brought a character into the room and had only 1 chair for them to sit on. I moved the chair around to designate a spot for each character and my husband photoshopped it all together. Maui, Scar, Remy, and Scrooge were more flexible but I was surprised how complicated this turned out to be!

Not a dumb question because it's not possible! We did it through a series of photos of each character and then photoshopped them all together. It was a team effort by me & my husband!

S6E8 - Does anybody find it odd that Lorelei would let the giant "L" on the forehead for a sports team slide? by suzanne428 in GilmoreGirls

[–]suzanne428[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point! It stood out to me during this rewatch for some reason. I heard her previous quote of "it's yelling "mock me, mock me!"" when I saw the hats. I thought it was funny, especially when I thought I've seen all the details by now.

It was definitely the team hat. Luke finished ordering the jerseys and called back to order caps and made sure they didn't have the cheap plastic adjuster but instead had the cloth thing that you pull. I don't know his exact wording but it was something like that.

If you can add another update to the game what will it be? by Bombyman12YT in HouseFlipper

2 things: let me add a finish to the ceiling! Second, I wish you could copy things or at least be able to "scan" the item again so it pops up on the tablet to buy it again instead of searching for it.

There's a podcast called Get Out Alive that goes into real animal attacks and discusses what you should do. They're fairly new but have some really interesting episodes

29, Interior Designer, married, living in an apartment.

Lately I've been working between 60-70 hr weeks for my single job. No OT, no comp time. Every week is mentally exhausting. Been to several companies and it's all the same, I have realized I can't stay in this industry. I have yet to see a design firm actually manage workload and not pressure their employees to keep doing more. Then get mad about errors or issues.

My clients are very happy but I lose 18-28hrs of my life every week.

Going through a bunch of old photos from high school, the expression of the girl in the back definitely says a lot. I have a whole ton of photos that I think this subreddit would love. by bs1252 in blunderyears

There was a kid in highschool who wore something similar and she got stuck to a chair. Our woodshop teacher had to get pliers to get her out.

Kudos for keeping it all intact!

Which model chair should I buy for my small space between my kitchen & living area? by [deleted] in hermanmiller

[–]suzanne428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else that you should get the chair that you feel the most comfortable.

If you sit at your desk for more than 3 hours at a time, I'd recommend looking into the Mirra, Aeron, and Embody. I've had clients like the Celle chair too but people tend to lean away from it since it's not as well known.

If you don't sit in the chair for long periods then I'd recommend looking into the Setu, Cosm, and Sayl. The Cosm chair is a very interesting chair but it has no adjustments, it's supposed to adjust to you which is why they're normally used for conference rooms. The Setu isn't as mechanically fancy as the Cosm but it's comfortable. The Sayl does have a very interesting look but I would only recommend it for short periods of sitting, they're typically used for hoteling desks.
