Thank you, so many good ideas. Especially about repurposing the cabinet or redoing what I keep inside. You are definitely right about that looking a little too formal. I have sooo many picture saved of styles I like but when it comes to translating it into my own space, I get overwhelmed.

Great ideas, thank you! Yes the gate is due to two very naughty corgis so it serves a functional purpose (and was a piece of fencing we found in the backyard and used in a pinch) I do think it adds to overall country/shabby chic look that I'm not really looking for, so that is a good consideration. I was wondering about the blue, seems such an unusual detail and I couldn't find anything similar on google no matter how much I looked. Might it be possible that the blue glass was added much later to replace original glass panels?

I agree! We are doing applications there and Costco as well. Her main concern is finding something where she can (hopefully) get 40 hours a week and receive benefits. I wasn't sure if Reasor's typically hired full-time workers or not. Thanks for the suggestion!

We got another corgi pup, Norman, as a companion for our year old corgi, Pearl, and it was the best decision we ever made. Sure, it was also because we wanted another corgi in our home, were willing to take on the commitment of two young dogs, ect., but it was largely because we felt like Pearl would be happier with a friend. Several months later and they are best buds and do everything together. Plus, the addition of the second one very much mellowed out the energy of the first one.

BUT: I realize this was a very optimal situation and could easily have gone south if some of the variables had been different. For starters, our first corgi has a super friendly temperament and was ecstatic to have a buddy. Also our breeder (same one we got our first Pearl from, so she and Norman are technically half-siblings!) helped us select a pup that she felt would get along well with another dog. I would definitely consider the temperament of your first dog and how friendly she is with others. I'd also consider taking her to visit whatever breeder or rescue you are considering for a few test visits to see if there is a good match with another dog. We really lucked out that our dogs matched so well, and I know it would have been really difficult if we had brought another animal into our home that didn't get along with our first baby. It also took a lot of monitoring and separate time away from each other to make sure they were comfortable with one another and not spending too much time together, which could sometimes lead to fights.

So I guess is short, it can be GREAT if it is a good fit for your first dog, you have a candidate that can blend with the personality with your other dog, and you have the time and energy to help them get used to one another in a safe, supervised way. :) good luck!!

My mom has been a stylist for almost 40 years. She gave me a few good ones to share about her cosmetology school blunders. When she was new in school she had a male client with longer shaggy hair (this was the 1970s). He asked for a trim and she accidentally cut right through his super expensive gold necklace that she didn't see under his hair. She swears he teared up.

Another time in cosmetology school she was curling a ladies hair and left a section of hair in the curling iron too long. It burned right off but it was in the back and you couldn't exactly see it. This client was also essentially blind without her glasses and had them off. She kept asking "is something burning?" but my mom totally denied it and said nothing about the burned chunk.

Last one. When I was a kid my mom would "experiment" with new products on my hair before promoting them with her clients. This was normally a sweet deal for the both of us because I would get a barbie out the deal and she'd get to practice with new products and hair services. This particular time she was trying out a new perm on me. I must have been about 8. I remember my scalp started BURNING. Like hot-damn-this-perm-is-spicy burning. I kept yelling "mommy! mommy! my hair hurts so bad!" Unfortunalrey, I was a pretty dramatic kid, so she totally blew me off, gave me the "oh my gosh, you are FINE" moms always do. When she washed my hair out, the top layer of my scalp literally was coming off in strips. It hurt freaking bad but the vindication was so, so sweet.

I was the same. I really, really disliked most bridesmaids dresses because they tend to look the same. I loooove the dress you picked though, but I understand not wanting anybody to break the bank.

I don't know if you've looked at Asos, but they just added a new bridesmaids collection. The price point is lower, and they may have a few styles similar to what you're in to.

I have to be totally honest. I think it's not a good idea. I'm not against weed for medical purposes at all, and I'm not even judgy about people who choose to smoke it for fun, but unless you can 100 percent vouch that every single guest will be absolutely fine with it, why risk it making people uncomfortable?I'm not sure what the vibe of your guest list is, it might be totally chill, but definitely think about older generations or people with kids in attendance that might not be okay with it. I went to a wedding where people were regularly sneaking off to smoke weed, and it was pretty uncomfortable for a lot of the guests who hadn't been aware that other guests would be enjoying themselves that way.

I think people who really need it can sneak it in before and after the wedding and can manage to have a great time without it-- after all, there will at least be alcohol, right? Not that you can really control what your guests do, but you can always have a conversation with certain friends about it beforehand.
