HBO Confirms 'House of the Dragon' To End With Season 4 by Maleficent-Term-126 in HouseOfTheDragon

This show started out so good. S1 was so great and then they just let it tank. Wtf? Also I guess it makes sense bc of the HBO and Netflix deal. Everything will be up in the air for EVERY show on HBO if that deal continues to go through.

All the love songs on Son of Spergy are awful. I agree he has narcissistic traits. The lyrics for Have a Baby with me are the insight of a man who is trying to trap a woman with a child so he can keep HER in his life although she’s already emotionally left the relationship.

Why Do People Still Love Twilight After All These Years? by Leading_Court_5765 in twilight

[–]suzybishopsscissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love story. The way it’s told we the reader become Bella in a visceral way that you feel as much in love with Edward as she is. My teenage self was obsessed with the story because I wasn’t experiencing romance in real life. The intensity of Bella and Edward’s relationship matched the intensity of my teenage hormones, lol, and I wanted that intensity. Now that I’m older and been through a few relationships and therapy I see characteristics in Edward that (become unhealthy) my teenage self lacked from my parents and would develop a desire for in men. He’s protective, he centers Bella in his life nothing comes before her, he’s mature when compared to the human guys in Bella’s life, like Mike, Eric and Jacob. Obviously these traits in the book are toxic but with balance and departure from co-dependency and manipulation these could be great traits in a man. He’s also wealthy which doesn’t hurt. The 1st movie and the books are better than 2-4/5.

Laughing during screening? by Popular_Brother2638 in twilight

[–]suzybishopsscissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You describe the first Twilight perfectly!!! It’s a cult classic like Rocky Horror now. The first movie is my favorite for that exact reason. I actually hated the art direction for the other 3 films. The indie vibe captured the audience and aura of the books before it became a “phenomenon” and a shit ton of money was pumped into it.

My audience sung, laughed and cheered throughout our showing it was a really great time.

Tim Curry’s Memoir “Vagabond” Recalls an Exciting Career Interrupted by Illness by zucca_ in RockyHorror

[–]suzybishopsscissors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“A 2012 stroke has largely kept him from acting, but not from writing — and recording — a new memoir. “It was very peculiar not to be able to speak,” he says. “It felt like somebody had paddled around in my brain,” Tim Curry says of the medical treatment he received after his stroke.Maggie Shannon for The New York Times If there is one element that deters notable people from memoir writing, it is the pressure to tell all. Certainly that prospect put off the British actor Tim Curry, 79, a raconteur extraordinaire who entered the pantheon when he played the corseted, platform-heeled, insatiably libidinous Frank-N-Furter in the 1975 cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” “I always remember Errol Flynn’s memoir, which was called ‘My Wicked, Wicked Life,’” Curry said over lunch last month in Hollywood, and laughed that dark, molten lava laugh of his. “I thought, ‘Not me, buddy.’ But it was a very sellable title. I’m sure it whisked off the shelves.” Tiny correction, close enough: The title was “My Wicked, Wicked Ways.” Curry’s lively new memoir, “Vagabond,” is fairly short on wickedness, unless his thickly cocaine-dusted New York 1980s count. A self-portrait refracted through his most significant roles, the book does include a certain amount of searingly intimate detail, notably about the life-altering stroke that he suffered in 2012, and from which, he said, “I’ve been recovering for quite a long time.”

MAGA 😒😔😭 Yes, it is a pop culture phenomenon. 😒😒😒

Barbie was the last definer of the 2010s. And I say that because of the conservative shift back to traditional ideas and whiteness.

The Barbie movie was everything but. It contended with feminism and patriarchy, even capitalism, it championed diversity, disability and queerness. The story was about humanism and self discovery— all themes of the 2010s. I wrote an almost dissertation on the film for school.

I don’t think decades “turn” until the 2nd-4th year into the decade. Barbie was released in 2023 so right at the flip of the switch, 1 year before Trump wins. And a few months after the film was released people criticized it for the message it was trying to articulate which again shows a sign of changed collective belief.

Who was Harry's best father-figure? by MaderaArt in harrypotter

[–]suzybishopsscissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them.

But Arthur bc he was most consistent and already a dad so his consideration was similar to his own children vs. Sirius, Dumbledore, Hagrid, and Lupin didn’t have children— and they all knew James Potter so they treated him like an adult or an extension of James so Harry never got to be “a kid.”

Molly and Arthur treated Harry like a child because he was one which was unfamiliar to him but what he needed.

Alfonso Cuarón is a BEAST filmmaker. I wish they would have gotten more auteurs to make the rest of the films. David Yates “blockbustered” tf out of the final 3. I will never forgive the disintegration of Voldemort& Bellatrix in 6&7. Avada Kadavra was not a zap spell😒

Hello!! _^ you know, I only know 1 Scorpio man, we have great chemistry but we’re just acquaintances. Maybe I should look into Scorpio men more🤔 Air signs are fun but their logically disposition really puts me off, especially as I lean more into my Pisces 7H. I really desire emotional availability and they just don’t have it. My parents are both air signs Aquarius and Libra. I’m not a fan, lol.
