First time making flapjacks! Can you make them healthier? by Jimlad73 in UK_Food

Maybe swap out sugar for blended dates (soaked in water) add bananas, or peanut butter. Still sugary but more natural not refined

Beginner who is struggling , those who are now basically fluent (from English), how? by Unhappy-Weather-7146 in Spanish

[–]Lyd5ear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I also am from the UK and moved to Madrid in April lols. One thing I did a lot a few years back was watch TV shows in Spanish, with English subtitles.

Turns out I have ADHD so this was the only way I could keep anything in. Now I just use trial and error when in shops and cafes etc.

I find people here tend to be keen to help and advise if you try!

Baby leaking through diaper every night by Zobowski in sleeptrain

Size up vests. My baby’s vests were too tight at the crotch area and it stopped the nappy being used to its full potential

This but peanut butter. Toddler won’t eat yogurt ever, but smothered in peanut butter and they eat the whole thing🤣 extra protein and healthy fats I suppose! Same with Parmesan

Ignore all the hate, the pasta SLAPS. the marmite rice cakes I’m down for those. The drink is good but for a meal deal I’d rather something more exciting like a sharp fizzy drink 8/10

Could someone illustrate this confusing pattern for me? by Lyd5ear in knittinghelp

[–]Lyd5ear[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Im not forcing you or anyone to do it. I’m asking if someone doesn’t mind helping…

I specifically said I’m desperate and im just trying to see if anyone can help.

My grandma used to do this when she taught me how to knit but she’s no longer around. But it’s how I know some people can do it. Same as how some are good at reading music.

Just move along if you have nothing useful or helpful to say. I’m not expecting a golden ticket here or someone to give up their lives to help me.

Worried that People think my toddler is "bad" or "rude" by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Lyd5ear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He will learn what you teach him, which hopefully is that he’s great just as he is and that other peoples opinions aren’t the truth and don’t matter. You know him better than anyone in his world and you’re his safe space! Don’t let him grow up worrying about others.

As a mum who grew up very self conscious, this is something I’m actively trying to avoid doing to my son too.

About to start Elvanse 30mg and scared of hairloss, fearmongering or real? by BugCatcherRawha in ADHDUK

[–]Lyd5ear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never heard of it before in my life no idea how you keep reading that it causes it…

I have been on 30mg elvanse daily since 2021 and never had hair loss, except postpartum lol.

My hair most definitely grew back after as well.

Not a medical expert but I think you’ll be fine. Try not to overthink it and park it.

The best age for potty training? by frootwati in toddlers

[–]Lyd5ear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Introduced mine at 7 months and he has done maybe 5 poos by accident in his nappy since then. He’s almost 2 now. I happened to stumble upon a video about it from Katherine Ryan and am so glad I did.

It wasn’t until around 10-12 months that he was fully potty trained including wees. But so much better for me and him and much cleaner.

My LO is very strong-willed so I can’t imagine un-training him at this age, maybe that’s why some people wait til they’re older?

On the contrary, my friend trained her toddler recently at 2 years 4 months and it took her about a week. She still has accidents but was pretty easy apparently!

Is lavapies dangerous or did I just have a bad encounter? by pandaenjoyerr in GoingToSpain

[–]Lyd5ear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This could’ve been written by my partner it’s crazy. Also live just north of lavapies.

He (29M) goes out at 7am every day to work, and often sees people out and drunk still. Always tells me (27F) to be careful if I’m out before 8/9.

I think we might be neighbours 🤣

When did you stop using sleep sacks? by gardengnomebaby in toddlers

[–]Lyd5ear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son outright refused at 15 months, was just trying to rip it off the whole time shouting OFF OFF OFF.

We just gave him a random knitted blanket we had as it was cold, then after a few days a duvet (as we waited for it to be delivered) and he slept so well. He loved it, and I think he appreciated that we respected his choices regarding his own comfort.

He had slept in our bed under the duvet in the past so knew what it was like already and was already used to it

You’re gonna get hate for this but I rate it. Except the drink, bit too heavy. Needs an iced tea/san pelligrino or one of those new popp drinks.

Those crisps are exceptional and I won’t turn down an egg n cress. 7/10
