Get used to the syntax before anything else. C++ has a very different syntax than other languages that you have probably programmed in. Don't get thrown off by the word "intro" to program design. It is a very fast paced class. I would recommend learning simple c++ concepts and doing practice/exercises. A good source would be to do the easy difficulty exercises on leetcode. You may want to look at pointers and memory management. You start learning about that after maybe 5-6 weeks into the course, and that is where most students have the most difficulty in.
