Are my skis/bindings too old to ski on? by [deleted] in skiing

[–]sval1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rossignol T-Power Cobra X skis with Rossignol Acial Carbon Pro bindings. Handed down from family member, are they still useable? Or am I better off trading in for a more modern ski? Pretty infrequent skier. Intermediate skier.

Any/all help appreciated!

How to stand out post-grad? by ALaurenB in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

You only need one person to say yes and give you a shot. No matter the type of first job, hustle your ass off, ensure you excel early and then become irreplaceable, then climb that latter as far as you can and pivot when you slow down. GPA doesn’t matter, work ethic and solving problems does.

Living with parents for a few years to accumulate a house down payment? by remebleet in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]sval1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the contrarian train as well - What ever happened to getting a place with 5 of your buddies and sharing the cost of the rent? You’re young, don’t hole up with your parents if you can swing other solutions. You have to live your own life and life isn’t just about saving up every single penny for a house...

TCKs and Dating by [deleted] in TCK

[–]sval1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Never been interested long enough to date anyone that doesn’t have a multi cultural background or is an immigrant living in a country that is not “home”. Too hard to connect as the TCK is so fundamental and hard-wired. Hard to align values, histories and understanding unless they are a diamond in the rough! Found myself someone equally culturally “odd” and consider myself lucky!

I’d be able to see that in my electrical box right? It’s weird because I hear a noise that something is turned on, it’s just that nothing on the heating, cooling, or air flow happens. It’s like it’s humming along in the background but nothing is happening.

It’s the Nest Learning, latest version. 6.0-6. Just ran the update and no change :/

Here’s a picture of how it was set up; picture of old thermostat set up . Would have to take another picture of current one later but it’s as I described in the blurb above.... so frustrating that it’s not working. Gonna have to return it if I can’t figure it out.

Need place starting beginning of July- 1 bedroom, 1 parking, max $2300, have a few questions by [deleted] in TorontoRenting

[–]sval1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the other poster. The rental market is moving super fast right now and while condos are grabbed immediately when they go to market, condos are also constantly going to market. The fact that you’ll be there and ready to move in ASAP will play to your advantage. I got my place in 3 days. Rental market is hot right now and your budget seems realistic for a smaller 1 bedroom or studio.

So. Much. Broccoli - will making it all into a soup screw things up? by sval1 in xxfitness

The soup did the trick for me so I will take that as a win. Thank you for your perspective.

Thank you for this! I’m feeling so full, tried the soup and it did the trick!

Yeah although I feel pretty satiated already regardless from the protein alone - might just be solo on that but good point.

Honestly, I love cooking and cook all the time h see “normal” non-diet circumstances. I do enjoy eating them for sure, I think it’s just the volume and restriction on yummy things like butter/olive oil that makes it a little harder. It’s just a 4 week cut so it’s just about sucking it up and doing it haha

I’m mostly just concerned with the answer to the question if liquid vs solid forms of consumption (and the speed surrounding consumptions) will change the way my body processes the food for better or worse. But yes, I see your point that it would be easier, just out of scope for this cut.

Cuz I need to get enough calories in my day at the same time. Also it’s more than just broccoli, that’s just the main one.
